Amazing sound. Very easy to set up. My only complaint is adjusting settings you must use your smartphone app. Impossible to see settings on the soundbar unless you’re right in front of it. They should have made it so you get a menu on screen

The Samsung HW-Q990D Soundbar was my first soundbar in years and well worth the purchase when compared to its competitors. Setting up the four pieces (soundbar, amp, two rear speakers) was a breeze, and all were well-packaged and protected for shipping/transport. Would highly recommend downloading the SmartThings app to finalize set-up and to use as a second remote. The on-device display is usable, but leaves a lot to be desired. Most settings can be customized through the remote, but the app simplifies the process. Features I’ve found on the app, but not the remote include Night Mode (Private Rear Sound), Dialogue/Voice Enhancement, and Base Boost. I’ve been satisfied by the well-rounded performance, and watching movies and playing games has been a joy. If you’re in the market for an improved sound system at an affordable price, look no further than the Q990D.

I'm not disappointed with the purchase even I wouldn't mind paying less but I love the rumbling bass and it's pretty loud, I chose this over the hw-q990f because of the bass.

It’s a big beautiful soundbar with all the bells and whistles I expected. Initially I had a hard time synchronizing it with the Samsung tv but using ChatGPT 5.2 it patiently walked me through the process. Honestly at a certain point it sounds as though someone’s standing in front of you speaking or making sounds reminiscent of the actual event. Pretty impressive but heavy and big different then by previous system the Bose. Good investment if your constantly moving it might be more advantage for a smaller easier to move unit. I was looking for a complete soundbar system with wireless surround speakers. I found it when I purchased this Samsung system. Watching our favorite movies is like watching them in the theater.

The sun quality and this technologies is awesome for having just a sound bar and two rear speakers, along with the subwoofer, it gives you that cinema experience when watching a movie and even better when watching sports

Review: Samsung Q990D + Samsung QN90F — A Shockingly Bad Experience I went into this setup expecting seamless integration. After all, Samsung markets their soundbars and TVs as a unified ecosystem, and the Q990D is supposed to be their flagship. Instead, pairing the Q990D with my Samsung QN90F has been one of the most disappointing home‑theater experiences I’ve ever had. eARC Incompatibility That Makes No Sense The biggest failure is eARC. It simply does not work reliably. Instead of delivering stable audio, the system constantly drops sound and randomly switches back to the TV speakers. This isn’t an occasional hiccup—it’s a recurring, maddening issue that ruins movies, games, and everyday use. For a premium soundbar and a premium Samsung TV, this level of incompatibility is unacceptable. Forced Into Wi‑Fi Audio for Basic Devices What makes this even worse is that the Q990D seems to require Wi‑Fi audio to function consistently, even when using basic, everyday devices that millions of people own: • PlayStation 5 • Nintendo Switch • Roku • Blu‑ray player These are not exotic or unusual setups. They’re standard home electronics. Yet the Q990D struggles with them unless you abandon HDMI and rely on Wi‑Fi—something no one should have to do for a flagship soundbar. Audio Drops, Switching Outputs, and Constant Frustration The experience is a loop of: • Sound cutting out • Output switching back to TV speakers • Manually reselecting the soundbar • Hoping it holds for more than a few minutes It’s exhausting, and it completely undermines the point of buying a high‑end sound system. Bottom Line The Samsung Q990D may sound great when it works, but the constant eARC failures, audio drops, and forced Wi‑Fi reliance make it impossible to recommend—especially if you’re pairing it with a Samsung TV like the QN90F. This should have been a premium, plug‑and‑play experience. Instead, it’s been a frustrating, unreliable mess

Amazing sound and quality, easy set up definitely worth the money.

This Soundbar is the best for 2k i purchased so many sound systems this tops a lot of them this is around 2k sounds like 4k sound system. this is my 3rd soundbar.

I tried the bose top of the line home theater system back to back with this one, and Samsung blows them away. For less money you get a lot better sound, volume, and an app that works a lot better.

This system is EXCELLENT, my first HW-Q99OD/ZA 11.1.4 It's Hands Down the best I have purchased. This is my fourth Soundbar, it's sound is better than I expected, GREAT PRODUCT.

These are the best surround soundbar speakers I've ever had,I had Bose and Panasonic. These are way better, crisper sound and clearer speech,very happy with the purchase

As mentioned in the title, I decided to install a sound bar for a room that is not optimal for surround sound, and especially Atmos. After looking through many brands of sound bars, I decided on the Samsung. I do not regret my decision with this high-quality sound bar! It delivers great surround sound, and the base is extraordinary!

This Samsung soundbar when used with a Samsung TV's Q-Symphony settings provides a sound experience VERY close to the experience with a separate amplifier and wired speaker connections! I absolutely love it!!

The soundbar was fairly easy to hook-up to my Samsung smart TV and Xfinity cable box and Sony 4K DVD player. Set up with remotes went better than I expected. Sound is so much better then just TV speakers. Really able to enjoy theater type sound. Very happy right now with this purchase.

Stunning surround sound, deep bass, and flawless Dolby Atmos. Best-in-class home theater!

Great Sound, I paired this with my new Samsung 85" Neo QLED 4K. Together they make the house feel like I am in a theater. I like the Dolby Atmos and the wireless features with subwoofer and rear speakers which allows me to move them to different locations if I want without running speaker wire and audio9 cable. This sound system replaces my older Pioneer Elite VSX-40 and Polk Speakers.

The soundbar creates a theater atmosphere, especially when listening to music.
