It isn't the easiest remote to work with and I don't like the voice that blares when I change a setting.

First soundbar

Only had it for a few days. Set up was easy enough, but using the remote can be difficult. Learning all one can do can be challenging. One thing that bothers me is the volume control on the remote doesn't work. If I have to change the level of sound I have do it at the soundbar itself, which can be tiresome. If I want to hear the surround sound on it I will probably have to turn the volume up more than I have already. Just don't want to bother the neighbors. Good base to it.

To control the volume using the provided soundbar remote, you will push forward or pull backward on the volume button. Think of it as a switch that rocks forward and backward.
Your user experience is very important to us, and we value your feedback regarding the remote control usage and learning what it all can do. If you are unable to locate the User Manual for your soundbar on Samsung’s website, please follow these steps:
1) Visit the product page of the HW-S50B Soundbar on Samsung’s website
2) Click “Support” below the soundbar name - this will take you to the bottom of the web page.
3) You will then see 2 options in grey boxes: User Manual and Warranty.
4) Click “Download” under User Manual & agree to the terms – the full User Manual will then begin downloading!

Sound bar with center channel

It was explained that the flatscreens all have relatively cheap speakers in them and they are facing downward and that by having the sound bar at the bottom projecting out toward us would help the recommendation for the center channel I was told his tune specifically for voice so with that said we were expecting may be more than it is able to deliver it does to better if we increase the volume to a little higher level than we are used to but that seems to be what it takes in order to make out all the dialogue The fact that this sound bar doesn’t require a remote base is a positive for us in our house. Overall I think this sound bar is a little expensive as compared to others but the center sound channel is a must

By pressing the SOUND CONTROL button (which looks like a gear), you can set the audio function. The desired item can be adjusted using the Up/Down buttons. Each time the mode changes, the Multicolor LED blinks in white.
– If the video on the TV and audio from the Soundbar are not synchronized, select “Sync” in Sound
Control, and then set the audio delay between 0~300 milliseconds by using the Up/Down buttons.
(Not available in “USB” or “Bluetooth” mode.)
– “Sync” is only supported for some functions.
– “Night mode” is optimized for night time viewing with the settings adjusted to bring the volume down but keep the dialog clear.
– “Voice enhancement” makes it easier to hear spoken dialog in movies and TV.
By pressing the SOUND MODE button, you can select the desired audio mode. Each time the mode changes, the Multicolor LED blinks in white. (The sound mode may differ with the TV model.)
DTS Virtual:X Mode: Immersive 3D sound from any content.
Standard Mode: Outputs the original sound.
Music Mode: Provides more natural and room filling sound for music content.
Game Mode: Provides stereoscopic sound to immerse you in the action while gaming.
Adaptive Sound Mode: Analyzes the content in real time and automatically provides the optimal sound field based on the characteristics of the content.

It pairs up with our tv controller so that feature is nice. It also has several audio options which we have cycled through maybe 3 depending on what we are watching or if we are playing a video game.

Set up took about 5 minutes to unpack and to connect an HDMI cable (included) and a power cord. This is not a $2000 surround sound system, but for the $150 sale price it is definitely well worth it.

Nice all in one system, but the sound is questionable. I have to increase the volume higher then normal to get a decent sound out of it.

Thank you for taking a moment to review the Samsung HW-S50B Soundbar.
To optimize your audio experience, please try the various sound modes this model offers. Press the SOUND MODE button on your remote, and then select your desired sound effect: DTS VIRTUAL:X, STANDARD, MUSIC, or ADAPTIVE.
When you press the CH LEVEL button on the remote, you can adjust the volume of the CENTER speaker using the UP/DOWN buttons between -6 to +6. If the Rear Speakers (sold separately) are connected, the setting “Rear Level” is supported.
You can further adjust TREBLE and BASS via the TONE CONTROL button using the UP/DOWN buttons on the remote between -6 to +6.
Press and hold the SOUND CONTROL button for about 5 seconds to adjust the sound for each frequency band. 150Hz, 300Hz, 600Hz, 1.2kHz, 2.5kHz, 5kHz, and 10kHz are selectable using the Left/Right buttons and each can be adjusted to a setting between -6 to +6 using the Up/Down buttons. (Make sure the Sound mode is set to "Standard".

Yhis sound bar is exceptional. We had not realized what we had been missing even when the tv speakers were working. We enjoy listening to music and that is also amazing. The guys installing and demonstrating the sound bar were really nice & polite and very informative. They did an excellent job and did not leave anything lying around.
