We appreciate you taking a moment to review the Samsung HW-S50B.
To optimize your audio experience, please try the various sound modes this model offers. Press the SOUND MODE button on your remote, and then select your desired sound effect: DTS VIRTUAL:X, STANDARD, MUSIC, or ADAPTIVE.
When you press the CH LEVEL button on the remote, you can adjust the volume of the CENTER speaker using the UP/DOWN buttons between -6 to +6. If the Rear Speakers (sold separately) are connected, the setting “Rear Level” is supported.
You can further adjust TREBLE and BASS via the TONE CONTROL button using the UP/DOWN buttons on the remote between -6 to +6.
Press and hold the SOUND CONTROL button for about 5 seconds to adjust the sound for each frequency band. 150Hz, 300Hz, 600Hz, 1.2kHz, 2.5kHz, 5kHz, and 10kHz are selectable using the Left/Right buttons and each can be adjusted to a setting between -6 to +6 using the Up/Down buttons. (Make sure the Sound mode is set to "Standard".

It's a decent soundbar for the price, and it fits perfectly under the TV and between its feet/stands. The only complaint that I have is that it has no display, so when you cycle through the sound inputs or modes, the soundbar screams at you with this obnoxiously loud voice at a preset volume that you have absolutely no control over. It's not so bad during the day, but if you're watching TV or streaming at 1:00am with the volume set extremely low, if you cycle through the inputs for any reason, that woman's voice is going to wake up your neighbors. If you do decide to pick up this soundbar, don't bother buying an optical audio cable if you're thinking of using that to connect it to your TV. I initially had mine connect via optical audio, and it was miserable; there is no improvement in terms of audio quality vs HDMI, and you may lose the ability to control the volume with your tv remote. If you've got an HDMI cable, you're all set. If not, I'm sure Best Buy can hook you up with one of those at a decent price.

I wasn’t expecting much, but once I hooked it up, the audio was clean, punchy, and surprisingly immersive. What I liked: Bass is deep without being muddy. Perfect for movies and music. Easy setup – pretty much plug and play. Bluetooth connectivity worked flawlessly with my phone and laptop. Sleek design that fits in nicely with my living room setup. Overall, the Sambumg sound system punches way above its weight. Whether you're watching Netflix, gaming, or just vibing to music, it holds up really well. Definitely worth considering if you're not looking to drop a ton of cash.
