      When you press the CH LEVEL button on the remote, you can adjust the volume of the CENTER speaker using the UP/DOWN buttons between -6 to +6. If the Rear Speakers (sold separately) are connected, the setting “Rear Level” is supported.

      You can further adjust TREBLE and BASS via the TONE CONTROL button using the UP/DOWN buttons on the remote between -6 to +6.

    Every time I pause the movie or series on our Samsung tv, I have to reset the volume setting on the device. Very irritating plus no tech to help.

    Matched this up with the Insignia TV to provide 3 channel dolby sound and very happy with it. Need a HDMI port on the TV for it. Does the job

    Bought this to go with a Samsung Tv that had poor sound and this improved the sound in a general way with most cable shows, however there is a big problem with balancing streaming movies that have a mix of music alongside dialogue, the music booms and the dialogue sounds muffled or underwater.

      To optimize your audio experience, please try the various sound modes this model offers. Press the SOUND MODE button on your remote, and then select your desired sound effect: DTS VIRTUAL:X, STANDARD, MUSIC, or ADAPTIVE.

      When you press the CH LEVEL button on the remote, you can adjust the volume of the CENTER speaker using the UP/DOWN buttons between -6 to +6. The CENTER CHANNEL is where the dialogue will come from. By increasing this channel, the dialogue will be improved when the rest of the movie/show gets louder. If the Rear Speakers (sold separately) are connected, the setting “Rear Level” is supported.

    Soundbar and ROKU stick issue

    I purchased this soundbar to add to my 2016 Samsung TV. I got it to work one time, but could not get it to work again. I will need help programing it. If you want to buy it please tell the sales team the age of your TV and see if it is compatible. I use a ROKU stick to stream, might be the problem..

    I want to like this sound bar, but it has been a nightmare to set up with my tv, and never quite works right. All of the options are confusing, and leave something to be desired. Only bought it because it was on sale, would definitely recommend a different one though.

    Decent speaker, but not loud enough. Bought due to samsung TV not being loud enough, but this isn't a whole lot better than the TV itself.

      Hi Eddie,

      We appreciate you taking a moment to review the Samsung HW-S50B Soundbar.

      If you don't have a surround system, you will probably want to select PCM audio on your TV. You'll get much louder volume that way, and potentially better sound quality.

      If your Digital Output Audio Format isn't set to PCM, for instance if you have a Dolby option selected, then you will likely notice decreased maximum volume. Dolby options are designed for surround systems (like 3.1.2 or 7.1), whereas PCM provides great sound quality for stereo speakers.

      On a Samsung TV this can be found at Home > Settings > Sound > Expert Settings. (It can also be found in the Quick Settings.)

    Not a fan had to spend money on a alternative usb cable. Doesn’t fit well on fireplace. First one I bought I was told by salesman that it was on sale but, when I returned it because it was broken. The next one I bought was $20 cheaper search games they play.

    Do not waste your money this product cuts out constantly. It's beyond aggravating & I had to go back to the regular TV speakers.I hoped the bad reviews were bad units but apparently I got one too. Don't take the chance like I did.

      I am sorry to hear that you are experiencing issues with the sound occasionally dropping from your soundbar. You may first want to check the cable connection of the soundbar to the TV or external device to ensure it is secure, and properly connected to the correct port.

      In addition to checking the connections of the soundbar, please make sure your soundbar is using the latest firmware Version. Updating the firmware on your soundbar gives you all the benefits of the latest improvements.

      You may also want to initialize your soundbar by pressing the - and + (volume) buttons on the top of the soundbar at the same time for at least 5 seconds. The light indicator on the front of the soundbar will blink 4 times and the soundbar will be reset. Please know, this will reset all settings on the soundbar back to default; any sound adjustments will need to be performed again.

      Should you continue to experience audio dropouts, and are connected wirelessly, please use the included cable to connect the soundbar to the TV. Using a wired connection instead of wireless often eliminates the issue entirely and improves the user experience.
