Adapter works good, I have always had a clear picture and this is the perfect substitute for when you don't have wifi to cast. The only draw back that I have found is when you plug in your charger it says use the original charger for a faster charge, and it was the original charger so your phone will go dead right in the middle of a movie if you dont keep any eye on your battery level cause the charger can't keep up while it's charging thru the adapter. (I tried countless different chargers & everyone said the same thing when plugged into the adapter) Also I don't like how the screen on your phone has to stay on the whole time your using it

This is a genuine Samsung mhl adapter. I'm using it with a Note 4 without issues. The technology seems to have matured enough that you can pretty much just connect it and go. Keep in mind that using your phone to stream HD content to a television uses a lot of battery. The adapter will prevent your phone from using fast charge mode. You can watch a 2 hour movie if your phone is fully charged at the beginning but not much more.

This usually works well connecting my Note 4 to a computer monitor to view programs from my phone. Wifi was not an option so this was a great find. Did have a few issues once in a while but I am not sure if it was the phone or this cable. The charge port needs to actually keep the phone from draining so much, otherwise this is a pretty good product.

Love streaming with it just wish I could flip a switch and it would let me lock the screen(turn it off) and continue streaming the movie and/or actually charge the battery 100% while watching the movie.

Works as expected. Even with a charger it burns battery life but video looks good and has worked with 5 different hotel tvs so far...

It works as expected, however, even with a 2.1 amp micro usb plugged in, it still drains battery on phone. would be nice if it could slightly charge or keep the charge steady.

So, I shopped around for a device to mirror my Galaxy S5 to my tv. I finally decided on the Samsung over the no name devices assuming it might have a better chance of working properly and because my local Best Buy had an open box that brought the price to a more reasonable level. The first couple times I used it worked as it should, tv shows what is on the phone and it charges (or at least attempts to, it still drains the battery just slower than not having it plugged in.) After the first few times it no longer will work with it plugged in to charge. I get a warning on my phone that it would work better if it had the original charger plugged in(the Galaxy S5 has a micro usb3 plug and the adapter just has the micro usb. The phone does charge with just the micro usb just not when attached to the adapter ) Also, it requires a specific procedure of plugging in the correct cords in the correct order otherwise it will not work. I have to figure it out everytime, I think it is adapter into phone then hdmi into adapter. Also, the phone gets incredibly hot during use. I sandwich it between a couple of freezer packs. Luckily, I have spare batteries so I can switch them out as needed. I can usually get through or almost through two movies before a change is needed. It really seems like a product that was built by somebody's 12 year old nephew instead of a giant multinational corporation. So, it works, mostly. I would recommend this to a friend only because there are very few choices available.

It has a charging port that does not work as it should. When you plug in charger the phone cycles from charging to video constantly. Best Buy told me I had to use my factory charger but my charger is a duel pin charger and wont plug into adapter and Sprint says it the adapter. The fact streaming video is a heavy draw on battery does not help.

This is a great item, as long as it is charged. I am waiting for Samsung to come out with another version that won't need to be charged.

I was looking for something I could use to hook up my Samsung phone and tablets to my TV with. This does just that. At times when the battery on the device is low I have to use the power cord through this dongle, but it does charge my devices while I use it.

It is using galaxy note 3 charging to play and that is causing quick discharge of note 3 battery

I purchased this in order to hook my phone up to my tv. It works well in that regard, haven't had any issues. The only problem is that it eats battery life. I have my fast charger plugged in while I use it and my battery still dies fairly quickly.

We bought this so we can watch movies on our TV using our galaxy tablet. We used an HDMI cord to connect the product to our TV and then connected our tablet to it. The TV became a mirror image of our tablet screen. We watched movies and looked at family pics this way. We had to charge our tablet while the movie was playing though. For some reason, if it wasn't charging it wouldn't pull up on our TV.

I like the product for what's it's primarily used for but you have to have your charger plugged into it also at the same time. Thing it it doesn't charger the phone while it's plugged in so your phone will charge down.

This is not compatible with the Galaxy Tab 4 and 2014 series Galaxy products. Use the Chromecast if you need to connect your devices to the TV. Try to avoid MHL if possible, as battery life degrades when you use MHL.

Performs as suggested, phone needs to be completely charged in order for adapter to work

This item is a great way to watch netflix on your TV from your phone.

It works fine, however must be recharged from time to time which can be a bit of a nuisance.

won't hold a charge very long or charge my phone..

Whenever it was hooked to the phone me playing a movie my phone will die before the movie end
