DOES NOT WORK

I use it with an Xbox series X and it has only given me issues. I will be returning it and getting a different one and different brand. This is not worth the money. Again does not work well at all

I wouldn't buy this monitory honestly

I thought I could get over it but when it takes me out my emersion and flickers a black screen it gets quite annoying. Wish the monitor would give me a freaking seizer everytime I alt-tab.

Great looks; Average performance

It's not really great at any one thing, but it's a good mid-tier monitor that will satisfy most users. The lack of true GSync support keeps the price manageable. After my first curved screen I'm kinda liking them now. They help with glare and with a matte coating almost eliminates any lights lingering behind you. The colors and brightness are extremely nice but I'm a user who likes a monitor to be about as bright as a sheet of paper in a normal lit room. I work in print so this is usually what we calibrate our monitors to and what I like using at home also. Although the screen is rated at 144hz, there's more ghosting than on my 120hz gaming monitor. This goes to show that it takes more than Hz to make a clean moving image in gaming. It's still great, but not as good as my other "slower" screen. One thing that would have been nice, especially at the price point, would have been to include an adjustable stand. I like my screen higher than what the stand provides and it's a shame I have to either buy an aftermarket mount or use a little monitor stand under the stand. The monitor does support HDR, but since it's edge lit it's fake HDR. Not worth using at all. They shouldn't have even wasted the resources on it and put it towards an adjustable stand. Nothing about this monitor blows me away, but nothing really makes me thing it's not a quality display. So it's average in that it gets the job done without any flair. If you're coming from anything less than 100Hz, you'll see nothing but a great upgrade.

Monitor can’t run 120hz without mess up

I thought, eh it’s a little cheap, but it’ll do. Right? WRONG. this bad boy screwed up the second I had tuned it to 120hz. Half the screen was black the other half white. And imagine that happening sporadically while you’re being chased by a dude with a knife in COD. Bruh. I cannot express my frustration. I’m forced to play on this monitor on 60hz for the sake of the screen going full on strobe light on me. Beware this monitor friends, do not make the same mistake I have. Unless you like suffering and getting absolutely dominated in anything you play because the screen screws you. Will add photos later. Sorry lads.

Super Smooth and Bright 2k Gamin’
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.The Samsung - Odyssey G5 27" IPS 1ms QHD is a great mid-level Gaming Monitor with AMD FreeSync & NVidia G-Sync Compatibility and HDR10. It has a higher 2K resolution than your typical 1080p FHD monitors, so the images are that much crisper with twice the pixels covering the same area. This makes it an excellent choice for both gaming and productivity as the text looks really sharp on the G5. The only drawback running at higher resolutions is that everything will be smaller, so if you are vision challenged, you may have to run it at a lower resolution or use a higher than 100% zoom in your applications. I have gotten so used to my dual Samsung 27” 1080p curved monitors setup that when I tested this Odyssey G5 2K monitor it’s almost as if I just put on a new pair of squeaky clean reading glasses. As for its intended gaming purpose, this G50A shines. With its 1ms Gray-to-gray response time, and super fast 165Hz refresh rate, it’s great for my driving games. The G-Sync compatibility with my gaming laptop’s RTX3050Ti makes a huge difference as well. Sometimes if there is any screen refresh delay, ghosting or out of sync frames, it could cause people the equivalent of “motion sickness”. That hasn’t happened with this Odyssey G5. Additionally, much like other Samsung displays, the colors are vibrant, contrast and brightness are high and there are plenty of preset and custom adjustments you can pick from. Moreover there are 3 buttons on the front bottom for game modes 1, 2, 3 that provide quick access to different color, contrast and brightness setups. Last but not least, the Odyssey G5 has Height Adjustment in addition to standard Swivel, Tilt and Pivot options and if you need to mount it on a wall or multi monitor arm, it also has the standard 100mm VESA mounting capability. All in all, I would recommend this to the casual part-time gamer, especially if you buy when it’s on-sale.

But then i played Tom Clancy Six Siege. A game that runs at 120 fps and would be met with white screens blue screens for half of the game. Will be returning.
