Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed.This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.within less than 5 days of purchasing I would get a white flickering screen within minutes of each other and it would then turn to a red screen, I'm the type of person I read so many reviews before purchasing anything and i read a lot about the white screen but i figured they were probably defective monitors, but i did notice the hdmi port is not secure at all feels loose like any movement will cause the flickering screen so i returned it and just purchase LG ultra gear and so far no complaints actually a better design and options

|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.This is a great gaming display. 2560 x 1440 QHD resolution with lovely HDR10 to give you phenomenal detail and all that extra screen space to make so many things easier to do and see. Super fast 165Hz refresh rate with 1 millisecond response time make this thing sharp, quick and smooth. Has one HDMI and one display port for connecting to pretty much anything in the last 5 years, no VGA or DVI so don't try to use this if you still rely on either of these connections. This has full support for G-Sync and FreeSync to ensure the display is showing everything the way it was meant to be seen and with no dropped frames. The 27" screen is ideal for most setups with ample screen size for gaming, media viewing or work. A nice thin bezel all around helps keep a small footprint even with the large overall viewing area. The included stand is excellent with many different adjustments and orientation options to ensure you have the setup you want easily and right out of the box. Also has VESA 100x100 wall mount option for additional possibilities. This thing paired with my RTX 3070 makes everything look absolutely amazing. Crystal clear images and smooth as silk motion are a gamers dream! I really enjoy having this monitor and I'm sure it's gaining me frags as compared to my old 21" - 1080p @ 60Hz monitor. This is simply lightyears ahead of that display and I will never go back.

Constant screen tearing and glitching to the point it makes games unplayable. Have tried about every set of changes i can to troubleshoot the problem with nothing helping. This has been my first Samsung monitor and it will be my last.

|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.This monitor surprises me because it fulfills its function very well but at the same time leaves a little to be desired, I will start with the unboxing, nothing out of the ordinary only that it will be necessary for the assembly a screwdriver to connect the base with the arm of the stand, actually assemble it is very simple however the plastic that goes in the back I feel that when assembling the two parts can break easily, the plastic feels very fragile does not seem very high quality but looks very good, I like the color. The monitor comes with a display port cable and power cord. Regarding the performance I can say that in the gaming section meets outstandingly with its 165hz and 1440p seems a very good combination if you are improving your set-up or perhaps play competitively, the monitor is excellently synchronized with the fps and feels quite good, the brightness is very good, the color reproduction in video games with HDR10 is pleasing to the eye, the image is clear and sharp, the part where I think it fails a little is when playing multimedia content, first I recommend turn off FreeSync as this allows access to the full image settings of the monitor, changing the settings you can get different results but if you use the default settings the result will not be the most optimal. Regarding the color reproduction as I mentioned, it is good but if it comes to dark colors are not total black but a washed out black, it will depend on the needs of each person I don't think it is a big problem is more a matter of taste because the type of panel is expected to be like that, when dark scences are reproduce, it looks in the corners a little bright. Taking into account the price and that in the market there are more options at a lower price with the same features, I would recommend this monitor with a reasonable discount as I don't think that only 165hz and 1440p justify the original price, however at a good price this monitor, which looks aesthetically pleasing and has a presence, can be a good choice for gaming, consuming multimedia content or video editing, it is very fluid and comfortable.

|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Pro: -Smooth high frame rate (HDMI 144 and Display 165) -Quick response time -Colors are vivid Con: -No speakers -Dim HDR -No useable USB ports -One display and HDMI Overall this is a great monitor with great colors and performance, but it is missing some features when comparing it to other monitors in the same tier. Starting with the build, it has very thin minimal bezels except for the bottom bezel that has protrusions seemingly for speakers, but there are no speakers with this model. It has three quick profile buttons and a joystick nub for the menu. On the back there’s one display port, one HDMI 2.1 port, and an audio out. It’s disappointing that there’s no speakers, only one HDMI, and no usable USB port (there’s one for update). Other monitors in this price range usually have one or all of those. The stand is wide and takes up a bit more space. It can rise up to 9 inch from the bottom, turn 90 degrees clockwise and have a wide side rotation range. The cable management is bare with only a loose strap at the bottom. I would have preferred it to have a way to route the cable through the stand. Picture quality is great. Even though the sRGB isn’t as accurate, the colors are vivid and bright, maybe a bit too saturated, but you won’t notice it while gaming or watching movies. I prefer the default but there’s also presets for FPS, moba, cinema, etc, or you can adjust just about all the settings. Some settings like the wide screen mode and low input mode won’t work while adaptive sync is on. It has good viewing angles, with the color starting to shift around 45 degrees in any direction. Framerate is smooth at 165Hz and no noticeable ghosting. HDR is unfortunately not that bright, making HDR barely noticeable. It looks more like the brightness is cranked up. It’s a common issue with most HDR monitors so don’t expect a TV-like HDR experience. It also pairs well with consoles. The Xbox Series X supports 1440p and even if the PS5 doesn’t, it still looks good.

Great monitor for gaming

Setting up the monitor was fairly easy and striaghtfoward. The stand is very sturdy and is made of metal. The vertical part of the stand snaps onto the back up the monitor. It’s supposed to be a fairly easy process, but I had a few issues at first. You’re supposed to move the spring-loaded sliding lever up, then when it’s lined up with the notches, you let the lever go and it’s supposed to be locked in place. The spring-loaded sliding lever did not fully extend back down, so it would not lock. The vertical part of the stand allows you to adjust the height of the monitor. It slides up and down very well. When I have my laptop lid closed I can adjust the monitor to a lower position, and use an external keyboard and mouse. For those times when I want to use the laptop’s keyboard and trackpad instead, I can raise the monitor to it’s highest level so I can still view the monitor without having my laptops screen block my view of the monitor. After a few tries I was finally able to get the spring-loaded lever to work. The base of the stand lines up and requires a screwdriver to tighten the screw that will lock the two pieces together. The picture quality is excellent. It’s just as good, if not better than my current Samsung 4K monitor. It can actually get brighter than my Samsung 4K monitor when I manually increase the brightness in settings. The monitor has little to no lag. After using the Odyssey for some time, then use a different monitor, the Odyssey G5 makes the other monitor seem slow. There are quite a few adjustments in settings that will allow you to get the monitor exactly how you want it. There are 3 buttons that will allow you to save your favorite 3 presets to switch between them. Overall, I’m enjoying this monitor for basic computing tasks and for my gaming needs.

|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.This monitor is very stylish with an easy to assemble stand that is very customizable in moving up and down, left to right and then tilt. It also is able to be rotated to full a full vertical view. When moving and adjusting the screen moves in the direction you choose with ease and then holds its place. The settings for the monitor are accessed with an easy to use joystick in the middle of the monitor. There are also three buttons to the left of the joystick to save custom settings to quickly toggle between for your varied use. For gameplay the monitor has a very sharp and bright picture with excellent color and smooth gameplay. When not using it for gameplay I have it connected to my streaming device through HDMI and connected to speakers. The picture is great for watching sports because the great refresh rate keeps up with the movement so there are no streaks or lag. The sound through the speakers is also synced up with the picture. Overall, I have zero complaints for this monitor which can handle anything I throw at it with gameplay and streaming. It does it all with a great picture! Another great viewing experience from Samsung.
