Great monitor. Sim race with it and it never crashes on me. Run max graphics

I'm a huge fan of Samsung 49" ultra-wide monitors. I was an early adopter for their first generation and have purchased 2 others since before this one. This is an equivalent to two 27" monitors side by side without the bezel between. I had been using multiple monitors for years before switching to a single ultra-wide which as the first gen Samsung which had a 3840 x 1080 at 144Hz display. So it's a big improvement with the Neo G9 having 5120 x 1440 resolution at 240Hz. If you are a gamer, first and foremost, the curved screen ratio had been improved from the first gen monitor making a tighter radius with greater peripheral view resulting in a more immersive feel during game play. It also has Freesync and G-Sync which when enabled in the game video options helps prevent what they call screen tearing which results in smoother play. A few things changed from previous Samsung 49" ultra-wide models besides performance, resolution and refresh rate. The inputs went from a DisplayPort and mini DisplayPort and one HDMI to only one DisplayPort and two HDMI ports. If you are only hooking up to a single computer you have the standard options and I suppose with the additional HDMI port it's easier to connect consoles or another computer. I actually use the one DisplayPort from my main home use/gaming rig and one of the HDMI ports hooked up to my work laptop when I do work from home. Using PIP (picture in picture mode) the monitor will allow you to set up side by side displays from two different inputs so basically having two independent 27" monitors. I really like that feature!!!! As for as NITS and all that other good stuff... I don't know anything about that because I'm not a graphics artist or content creator but I imagine true colors and color brightness are a huge attraction as this monitor does deliver. It sports a classy clean look. The gloss white really goes with my home desk setup and white PC case. Yeah, it's a lot of plastic but it's well done. I only experience one issue from time to time. When playing New World and I ALT-TAB to another window to quickly check email the display will come back almost blacked out but a dull image... like looking through a black cloud and you can't make out the image. To correct this I have to unplug the monitor and plug it back in. I think it has something to do with HDR being enabled so I disabled in the game menu and haven't had a problem since. I do understand there were earlier problems with HDR but a firmware patch corrected the issue. I checked and I have the current firmware so for now I can live with HDR off when I play. I've seen mixed reviews on this monitor and I will admit that the price point is pretty high so it's not for everyone. If you are content creator, streamer or graphics artist then you can probably justify the $2500 price tag. For a gaming solution... I'll leave it up to you if you think it's worth it. There are a ton of preformance reviews on Youtube so I didn't delve into all those stats and numbers but attacked this review as a pure gamer. I usually am on the bleeding edge of technology and willing to pay extra for things that I know I will get a lot of use out of. I love this monitor and paired with my new Alder Lake gaming rig with a RTX3080Ti it's an amazing addition to my overall gaming setup. I would have given this 5 stars if the price was say at the $2K or less. But if price is not an issue then I can't recommend this enough.

Randomly get black screens and unknown reason. Can be outdated drivers or Nvidia doesn’t support dual monitor with this size.

Will admit to having some trepidation in buying this monitor given all the online chatter about quality problems, however my experience (thus far at least) has been absolutely phenomenal - easily the best monitor I have ever owned or seen. Research suggests that quality problems were legit but were associated with monitors built prior in "previous generation" (unclear when that cut-off date was). Would highly recommend provided: 1. You have adequate desk space (and would recommend getting the purpose built ergotron monitor arm 2. You have a sufficiently powerful graphics card that can easily drive such high resolutions across such large real-estate (I have a NVidia RTX 3080 and it is fantastic). don't buy this if you have a low-end card. 3. You use real old software that can't recognize the higher resolution.

This monitor has a lot of QC issues so buyer beware. I thought I was fine when I got a good one on my 2nd try (first had lines of dead pixels) but my monitor cracked on its own after 3 months (quick search finds many others with the same issue). It happened while I was sitting in front of it. Samsung refuses to fix it because they claim it is my fault because it is physical damage so I am stuck having to pay for my own repair. I will be buying a different monitor instead and will never buy another Samsung product in my life

The hdr is not good I was hoping this monitor was it but was disappointed

The picture quality is amazing. The response time is amazing as well.

I really wanted to like this screen, however, the resolution just wasn't high enough and the color did not wow me as I had hoped.

Great monitor with great features for gaming the best

Had the monitor working for about 5 days and it was awesome, but then i got a line down the middle with a color shift on each side of the line. Completely kills any immersion the monitor did have and only way around it is if i take it out of 240hz.

like a lot of people here.. I wish I would have listen to the bad reviews.. haha got this at the 1999 price.. man I wish I would have just listened (again have to mention it).. not sure if it's me but Samsung mad this very difficult to set up for console gaming.. I have it on a new Macbook pro 16" M1 Max connected vial USB C to Display port.. no issues... I connected Xbox Series X and Ps5 (of course using HDMI) and if you have it in PIP.. no HDR no 4K nothing... just plain old TV settings... if you set it up to show in the middle of the screen.. on Xbox you will get the green marks but good trying to run 4K 120hz.. it will stay dark... on PS5 HDR will run.. and I believe the 120hz.. but the screen size will not be full... you will have to adjust it to get the full screen and will have black bars (not talking about adjusting from widescreen, that won't work unless you are ok with super stretch).. I am talking abot having it the middle of the screen normal size

Was concerned about spending this much on a monitor, but I feel it was worth it. A splurge for sure…but hey, you can’t take it with ya!

For such an expensive monitor, and billed as a "gaming" monitor at that, I was shocked and dismayed to find that this one only had a single DisplayPort input, versus the two that a less-expensive model had, in favor of a pair of HDMI inputs. That said, the colors are phenomenal, and the steeper curve isn't as big an issue as you might think; if you've already used a curved display, this one won't take any getting used to, but if you're coming off a flat display, then you might be in for a period of adjustment. Once I got past the problem with the inputs (remember kids, the devil's in the details!), I learned to love this display, but I'm still sort of dismayed that my GPU has two DP outs, but it feels like I have to downgrade from there back to HDMI. I strongly recommend going with one that has two DP inputs and one HDMI.

Purchased this monitor as a Christmas gift for the family. Opened the gift and had Bestbuy Geek Squad install and setup the new computer and monitor. The monitor did not work!

The small amount of assembly was a breeze and intuitive. The packaging was no joke and made me confident it'd survive the trip home (some serious Styrofoam inside to keep this beast safe). Incredible display does everything it says - vibrant, immersive, responsive. Just make sure you have a desk deep enough to support the size of this goliath-sized monitor so you can sit an appropriate distance away
