Many appreciate the monitor's refresh rate for gaming, although some experienced issues with screen flickering or occasional blackouts. The vibrant colors are also frequently praised. Terrible QUALITY don't buy, Samsung fails again

Extremely terrible quality control. I had it for less than 24 hours and the entire screen stopped working. I took a video of it and it was flashing everywhere and going black and stopped working altogether. I tried different cables and PCs and all of my other monitors work perfect but this one has all sorts of issues.

Could not get the PS5 to run at 4k 120hz with this monitor and we tried everything, yes we. I have friends who are very good at bulding PC’s and programming. I contacted all of them on different days to try and resolve this issue to no avail. Including 4 different cables, resetting the system, reading articles and looking up vidoes none of which worked. I hate I have to write this review, buyer beware.

Just put my monitor together today. What's getting ready to adjust my settings. When I read on the computer settings that this is not HDR compatible. I called up my total Tech for help. They basically told me tough luck you'll have to take it back to the store.

Not that bright. High FPS over vivid colors

    Posted .

This is my first high refresh rate monitor. I've always preferred OLED over higher hz. Yes, there is no tearing, but you definitely sacrifice in brightness and colors. I'm sure for gamers/FPS, they care more about framerate than color accuracy. Since I've been spoiled by some nice OLED screens, the screen image does not WOW me. The max brightness is not even that bright. "CoreSync and Core Lighting" is buried in the menu; in fact, it's not even turned on by default, which doesn't make sense. The lights are on the back and there's two more on the bottom of the monitor, but it's faint. 144 hz is finicky. I have to keep toggling the "Game Mode" on/off to get it to work for my PC. (I'm also using dual/triple setup) The menu system is like Samsung TV; it's basically a Smart TV disguised as a computer monitor. No way it's a 5 star product. It's OK.

    Great experience on PS5

    Posted .
This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.

Having come from only playing PS3/PS4 on a regular TV, this monitor had everything I was looking for to take advantage of the PS5's abilities (HDR, 4K, high refresh rate, things my previous setups didn't offer) and the difference in experience even on PS4 was astounding, so I actually don't mind that this monitor is "only" 28" and "only" has HDR400 (which seem to be the biggest criticisms of this monitor). Can't really compare it to others monitors on a technical standpoint from experience, so I'll just say that I'm quite happy with what I see so far and look forward to using it throughout the PS5's life cycle. I can also confirm that 4K 120 fps does indeed work on this monitor when using a PS5. I tested this with Rainbow Six Siege (PS5 upgrade version, the only game I have that is capable of 4K 120 fps). The first picture is the output information from the PS5's settings while running Siege, which shows 4K 120 Hz. Additionally, the second picture shows Siege's in-game output information (bottom left corner, has to be enabled in game settings) and the monitor's information (right side). In the case of Siege, it does need to be set to performance mode to get 120 fps (otherwise it'll get 60). It seems like currently the Xbox Series X offers more 4K 120 fps games than the PS5, so just make sure that the game in question does in fact support this on your system. In terms of monitor settings (Menu > Settings, third picture), I had PC/AV Mode set to AV for the HDMI port I was using and Input Port Ver. set to 2.1. I was also using the HDMI 2.1 cable that came with my PS5. My only "complaint" is that this doesn't come with a physical user manual. Something I didn't know is that I need to get firmware updates for this (although this might be obvious to people that have used gaming monitors in the past), and although this is mentioned in the downloadable user manual, I only learned about this from a comment in a video review of this monitor. I don't think I can post a link, but just go to Samsung Support (Manuals & Software dropdown) and look up this monitor's model number. This is mentioned in the user manual (also in the support section), but make sure your USB device's memory is formatted to FAT32. One issue I had was that even though my device did have FAT32 formatting, the update would fail. I fixed this by getting a different device also with FAT32 formatting, but I made sure that the only thing in it was the .img file I had just downloaded. At the time of this review the monitor came with version 1002.0 from the box, and the latest version is 1004.0. Overall it's a great monitor that works as advertised in my experience.

I use this on my Xbox Series X and my MacBook Pro. This is an excellent display. It did come with one dead pixel, but I rarely notice it. I game both in 4k and normal resolution. Very little lag, but I’m not sure if I’m good enough to notice. First person shooters and some RPGs. Beautiful screen with good color.

Everything you'd expect out of a 4K monitor with a stellar refresh rate. So far no complaints, use it for casual games, indie games and AAA games on 3060 TI. Love it.

It's hard to say how I really feel about this monitor, because after coming from a TN panel, my review may be a bit biased. Regardless of this, to my eye, the colors look great, the blacks are pretty good, and it games great on PC. I'm not sure that it's worth it to go from 2K to 4K, but I paired it with my 3080ti and decided to give it a go. Hard to really tell the difference in the resolutions when gaming or watching shows though, especially if you sit back away from your desk. The only real issues that I have with this monitor are the local dimming zones and that my monitor came with a dead pixel. The dead pixel thing isn't that big of a deal to me though honestly, and if I paid you 20 bucks to find it in a minute against anything but a black background, you couldn't. Super hard to notice so who cares. The dimming zones are pathetic, but I knew that before I bought the monitor, so that complaint shouldn't really count if you do any type of research on this monitor. I don't have much else to say, really. The market isn't great for monitors right now, and this one is pretty good. Looks like most of the reviews are PS5 people or "backlight bleed" complaints (which I suspect might be the local dimming zones and people not understanding what's going on there). Again, I'm on PC, and I haven't had a single bit of backlight bleed, so I don't know. I would say buy it.

    Amazing Work of Art

Best. Monitor. Ever! I bought this monitor because the PS5 only pushes out its best quality with an HDMI 2.1 port. So I was comparing monitors and this one caught my eye (especially being samsung!) But the price was insane like over $800 on some websites. I came over to best buy and bought it (open-box condition) and couldn't tell the difference. This thing came in my hands like brand new and my eyes been loving it ever since. Supports 4k HDR at 144Hz with all the bells n whistles gaming monitors should come with. This monitor will not let you down I promise!
