Customers are pleased with the Odyssey Neo G7's picture quality, refresh rate, and HDR capabilities, frequently praising the vibrant colors, high brightness, and smooth gameplay. However, some users noted noticeable ghosting, particularly during fast-paced gaming or web browsing. The large screen size and built-in speakers also received positive feedback.

Great monitor for what I use it for. I'm certainly not a gaming snub by any means, so all the technical jargon doesn't mean much to me. I game and he monitor looks amazing from my end, Little bit of bleeding light around the corners but I think that is the nature of the pre-set setting

Great picture quality and very deep blacks not oled black but really good crisp quality in games with alot going on. ( baldurs gate 3, bf4, battle of fallujah, so on so forth) had a metal stand which is a great plus seems very sturdy for even me bumping into the desk and stuff.

Seems great on paper when you look at the specs, but once it is set up and running the image looked like it was actually curving away from me instead of being flat. I checked the physical screen itself and verified that everything looked straight (it did) but the internal image looked off. I have 2 stars for the impressive size and how nice the monitor itself looks, but the image for me was unusable and I returned it the same day i received it. Fyi- it is also extremely annoying to set up for the first time if you dont care about the smart features and only want to use it for gaming and work, since it forces you through a long setup process to set all the other stuff up first.

It sucks when try to adjust very customized brightness, contrast, swithcing on and off the eye protection model. Seems like you canno really tune the eye protection model. Great to have a controller. Better to have one more HDMI 2.1. Speakers are just fine. Screen quality is just okay.

TV, Not a monitor

Bought this and returned it.
If you have multiple monitors, absolutely not. It ships with a remote that you are forced to use. Frequently hitting power on means one turns off, the other doesn't so you hit the button again and the first one cycles off and the other cycles on, its absolutely a chore just to get them both on.
Compound this with 'power saving' feature that only keeps it away 60 seconds and doesn't detect your graphics card unless you unplug/plugin the monitor and even then have to select the proper input (again via the same remote playing detection games!)
I made the mistake of buying four of these - two each for the wife and I. I am being incredibly generous by saying this was a painful experience.
This thing is a TV first and honestly shouldn't even be billed as a monitor.
I wouldn't wish this device on my worst enemy.

Features locked behind internet connection

Some features are locked behind an internet connection. I have no want/need to connect my monitor to the internet. The pixel response time is pretty bad too, so there is plenty of ghosting. Colors are all washed out so dark colors seem grey. Little contrast even after changing settings. Some OSD monitor options are locked because I chose the "PC" option from the homescreen, but I had to because I cannot manually change source, when I try it says "Not Available".
If you want a TV that can also be a mid monitor, get this. If not, get something else.

Dead pixel upon arrival

Did a dead pixel test as soon as I set the monitor up and immediately found a dead pixel in the bottom left quadrant of the screen. Looking at my current options, but will most likely return due to the poor QC from Samsung.

I really like this monitor for many reasons, but at the same time, I am kind of torn. It performs very well (picture, response time), more or less has you covered on specs and connections, has a matte finish, which I prefer, and generally, does everything I want/need it to. All of that said, maybe it is too big (for me and my space), the software is a bit slow/laggy/clunky, and it does take some time to dial it in. Well, at least it did for me.
As a sort of common theme, setup is rather easy…like a TV. Basically, unbox and attach the stand. There really is not much more. The build is solid, about what you would expect from Samsung. It has a good number and variety of ports. I think most people will be covered. I am typically a wired guy when it comes to desktop/TV internet connectivity, and I think that would be a wise choice here. I am assuming for cost reasons…? but they decided to go with older Wi-Fi standards. Kind of a ding, but perhaps it is not an issue. The speakers are…” good.” They get fairly loud and should be ok for many, but if you are looking for a really nice audio experience you are going to want to add a bar or speakers to your setup.
The design/styling kind of walks the line between muted and gamer. Personally, and yes I know this is meant as a gaming monitor, I wish it just went plain, black, everywhere. It was close. That said, you have small bezels on the front with two very small LED bumps at the bottom corners and a rather plain white glossy back. All in all, most would consider a bit “plain,” but I think it looks good.
When it comes to the display, what everyone is really buying this for, I think it is fantastic. I know I may be in the minority, but I love a matte finish. It may degrade the color ever so slightly, but frankly, I don’t see it and I think the colors are very full, accurate, and detailed. The picture quality as a whole is great. Vivid, great contrast and brightness, and nice deep blacks (thanks to the Mini LED). HDR is solid and performs well. Further, I also really appreciate all the resolution at such a size. Admittedly, it did take me a bit of time to dial everything in to where I feel it really shined, but given how much it is going to be used I feel it was time well spent. Lastly, having the 144HZ refresh rate, 1ms response time, and Sync Tech, well, it just takes all of that good and makes it run smoothly. Of course, some of this will depend on your system, etc…but this thing was humming for me. Games looked great and ran great as well.
Additionally, you get some rather cool and unique gaming focused features from Samsung. Flex screen which allows you to adjust the screen size as well as expand the aspect ratio. Game mode. Aim stabilizer. Black equalizer. How much these appeal to you will be a personal thing, sure, but options are always nice to see.
Now, while this is being sold as a gaming monitor, it is also sort of a TV. Generally, it does this well. The Smart TV experience is what you see and expect from Samsung. There are a collection of apps that will work for just about everyone. Further, you also get a remote which gives you that TV feel as well. For me, however, I just felt the software was just slow and laggy. Not “horrible,” but definitely noticeable to me. This is sort of the same feel I got during the initial setup. Perhaps this is me, perhaps it get better with an update, and I do no think it is a deal breaker (depending on how you want to use it), but just something to note. That said, I do really like the versatility you get here. You can use the PC as a PC, game, add a game system, watch some content…all really without much hassle. That is really a nice feature.
My only other real concern, and this is just my situation, is size. It is BIG. I am struggling a bit to find the right space, distance, setup. I may explore mounting it, which I think would work great for me, but I will have to see. It is something to think about. While I love the resolution, using it for work and stuff has been a bit challenging. I think it will all work out, but it was not something I had really thought about.
Ultimately, though, I really do like this monitor. It looks good, is spec’d well, does everything I want/need it to do, and it does it well. Other than the few concerns I listed above, I think it would be a great, versatile choice for most people. My only last concern would be to check your use case. While the monitor/TV thing is a nice feature, I just think maybe you can get a better monitor for less and/or a better TV for less. If you don’t think you need them sort of together, maybe look in another direction.
