Extremely disappointed. After trying other versions of this, I went all out and spent the money for this set. It’s not good. While it is defective, the rear speakers had zero audio coming from them other than static. The subwoofer was a complete joke. I’m not sure about some of these reviews, but I will say the q800f sub is WAY better. The bar to that one isn’t very loud though.

The Samsung soundbar arrived undamaged and two days early. It was easy to install and came with a helpful guide for setup. The sound quality is great and I like the wireless features of the speaker. The balance of the surround system helps with the clarity of the sound and overall background effects. I also like having the ability to use my phone app to set up and control the features. Overall, the system has exceeded my expectations.

Easy system to set up and the sound is terrific! I’ve connected everything using Blue Tooth and it was very easy. I like the compact woofer and while I was worried about the size, I still get a big bass sound from it. It’s not as booming as my last woofer but the trade off of having my sound system disappear into the room and still have a quality bass sound was worth it. I would buy the product again and recommend it. Despite buying it on sale and saving $700, the system was still on the pricey side at $1300.

I was a little skeptical as I thought the dual 8” sub would not provide the bass I needed. I was wrong I have 2 10” subs in my car and this compact sub performs well just as well. Especially with Dolby atmos content. Dialog and loudness of the soundbar is the true highlight here. Set up was a breeze as well. I highly recommend this as it also has 4K 120Hz pass through for video games players. 10/10 better compatibility wise compared to the Sonos Immersive set and significantly cheaper. Go this sound bar and don’t look back!

Easy install right out of the box. Paired inatantly with my Samsung TV. Sound is fantastic.

Though it took a little longer than hoped to get rear speakers to sync (turns out must be in direct line of sight), once all speakers were connected, I have been thrilled with the performance and sound of the HW-Q990F soundbar! It replaced a 19 year old system with all separate components wired to an excellent Yamaha receiver. I wanted wireless rear speakers, and this was the most elegant solution. Only slight quibble is that the woofer doesn't boom the bass like my (twice as large) older one did, but it does fit with the overall sound extremely well. Turned it up to 50% once with some music, my wife yelled from 3 rooms away it was too loud! Overall, I can highly recommend this system to anyone!

cool sounding / easy to adjust / make sure and use the HDMI-ARC port on your TV - this will allow the sound bar to "auto-on" when you turn on your TV (HDMI cable supplied) / I tried the fiber connector, not the same experience and won't auto-on the TV / easy setup / and yes, for your online concert experience, it does get loud but still sounds great

The Samsung Q-Series HW-Q990F is an incredible soundbar setup that really brings the theater experience home. With its 11.1.4 channels, subwoofer, and rear speakers, the sound feels huge and fully immersive—especially with Dolby Atmos and DTS:X support. The bass is deep, dialogue is crystal clear, and it adjusts nicely depending on what you’re watching. I also love how easy it is to use with Alexa, AirPlay, and HDMI eARC. If you want powerful, room-filling sound without the hassle of a full receiver and wired speakers, this system is hard to beat.

I love the surround sound system, so clear, cinema like, makes our movie time very enjoyable. Setting up so easy - easy to use the apps - Alexa compatible. Perfect with my 4k Samsung TV!! Don’t really have to go to the movie anymore. 1st movie to try it out - TopGun! Problem with delivery, 2 days delay, 2 FedEx guy didn’t know how to buzz in to apartment (even with clear instructions) only left 2 notes, had to chase the truck & drag the heavy box 1 block (glad it has thick box), they didn’t even offer to drop it at my bldg.

Looking to replace home theater system that we have had for years, a 7-speaker system driven by a Sony receiver and Bose speakers, all connected by hard wire speaker cable. Audio effects and sound were excellent however we always experienced issues with hearing voices clearly without turning up the volume and subsequently the background noise of whatever we were watching. I reviewed and shopped around between the Sony Sound Bar (since we have Sony TV), Bose Soundbar, and Samsung Soundbar. I finally chose the Samsung Q Series HW-Q990F 11.1.4 ch w/Subwoofer and Rear Speakers. All three systems are highly rated. The appeal of the Samsung System was definitely the price and included the Subwoofer and Rear Speakers. Otherwise purchasing these extra components would have occurred much higher expense than the price of the Samsung Q-990F Series Soundbar. I am glad I made the choice of Samsung because it also had the HDMI inputs to connect the DVD and Satellite System, so everything is routed through the Soundbar. I would not have been able to do that through the Sony Soundbar. So far, we have been very happy with the sound output and sound effects of a theater experience. Particularly the voices come through much better even without switching the "Voice Enhanced Mode". Certainly, I would recommend to anyone choosing the Samsung Soundbar Q990F

I have had this soundbar for a month, and I absolutely love it. I previously had the Klipsch Cinema 1200, and it doesn't even come close to the performance and features of the Samsung HW-Q99OF. It's user-friendly because you can control sound settings by using the SmartThings app. It has a surround sound setup by controlling the sound equalizers on the soundbar and the surround sound speakers. You can also do the software updates on the app. You can choose from the app how the sound is distributed. The soundbar itself, the speakers themselves, or both. Your sound options are unlimited. If you are willing to spend the money, I would recommend this product.

I bought this to upgrade my sound for a large new years eve party I was having and let's just say the topic of the night was how amazing the music sounded especially given how I was able to place the speakers in different places around my home so every area no one had a problem hearing what was playing. Magnificent purchase.

I truly believe sound can resonate/tap into our emotions and feelings so I have been on a search for the best sound system that would allow me to trully experience in an immersive way the sounds that I listen to. Even though i am long time fan of Samsung technology and engineering when it comes to something like a speaker system. I didn't want to compromise just because of the brain. Luckily out of the systems i have tried, the Samsung Q990F came on top and is by far the best. This system delivers a clean and esthetic look, easy setup and moreover is compatible with most devices and brands. More importantly, it delivers what it claims to do, a clean and crisp DolbyAtmos suround sound with an unmatched bass coming from the subwoofer that would make your house feel like it is part of the movie you're watching or music you're listening to. For the price, there's nothing better out there than the Samsung Q990F!

I really enjoy this set. The sound is out of this world! I thought that I wouldn't be able to tell the difference—boy, was I wrong! I recommend this soundbar to anyone who doesn’t have one. The way they all synchronize wirelessly was a huge plus for me. I feel like I’m actually inside the TV! Great buy!

I’m very impressed with the Samsung Q990F sound system. It was easy to assemble and connected seamlessly with my LG TV. The sound quality is absolutely amazing — clear, powerful, and immersive. Movies, music, and even regular TV shows sound incredible. Highly recommend this system for anyone looking to upgrade their home theater experience

My only complaint is my wife goes to bed too early. I gotta turn the volume down at 9pm. This thing cranks! I Youtubed installation a bunch of times, but didn't really believe it could be that easy, it was. No regrets with this thing, it CAN rock the house.

My Q990F is a wonderful improvement! Six years ago I purchased a 55” Samsung TV along with a soundbar. I wanted to upgrade the soundbar a bit with surround but was having difficulty finding a true wireless system. It seems all are called wireless but really have a thin wire that connect the rear speakers to each other. Why do they do this? Dogs, cats, people, vacuums can all get caught up in this wire running across the floor. You do have to plug each of the 990’s surround speakers into a power outlet but there is no wire running between them. And the quality of the sound and the separation of the channels is great too!

The Samsung Q-Series HW-Q990F sounds excellent, especially considering it’s a soundbar system. I tested it in a very large room of around 360 square feet, and it still delivered immersive, room-filling sound with no problem. It creates a much bigger soundstage than I expected from a soundbar, and with a good Dolby Atmos movie, you can clearly feel the Atmos effects, which makes the experience much more cinematic. The main downside for me was the HDMI input compatibility. I connected a Fire TV Stick to it, and it would frequently stop working, forcing me to restart both the TV and the Fire TV Stick. After a lot of troubleshooting, I found that the issue was caused by the Fire TV setting “Match Original Frame Rate.” Whenever that setting was enabled, the problem came back. Once I turned it off, things became stable again. Overall, the sound quality is outstanding, but the HDMI input issue was definitely frustrating.

Huge upgrade in sound frame just TV speakers. Movie theater level sound every time we watch movies. Very easy to use and customize with the Samsung app via a smartphone. I would highly recommend this sound system from BestBuy!

I've been really happy with the Q990F so far. The sound quality is excellent, with clear dialogue, impressive surround effects, and plenty of bass. Living in a condo, it's honestly more system than I need. I rarely turn it up because it easily fills the room without sounding strained. Dolby Atmos content has been a pleasant surprise. While it's not the same as having speakers installed in the ceiling, the height effects are convincing enough to add immersion to movies and shows. Setup was straightforward, and everything has worked reliably. If you're looking for a premium soundbar system and have the space for the rear speakers, I don't think you'll be disappointed.
