The phone snaps easily into the case, where it's held snugly. I love the clear side panel and how the phone senses that it's installed in an S-view case and displays the time, battery power and any notifications, when the cover is closed. You can even answer the phone with the cover closed. Just swipe the phone icon down and talk. There is a slit for the sound to come out and the microphones are exposed to talk. I have answered several calls and have had no complaints from the calling party. Of course, one gets a case to protect the phone and this cover should do a good job. There is a bit of overhang on the open end so that the buttons and side of the phone are protected. The cameras and flash are protected by the case back as they are slightly recessed. The front cover should protect the screen from scratches if carried in your pocket.
