My old 36" Samsung died after about 10 years and it cost me $1,000 back then. This 24" is better for my desk and it was around $150. Delivery was fast. Couldn't have asked for anything more.

I purchased a Planar monitor stand. First, you need to remove the entire plastic back off of the monitor in order to take off the piece at the bottom that mounts the normal monitor stand that comes in the box. Once you've disassembled the monitor, and you've removed the extra nub on the bottom, the Planar stand become possible to mount. However, the spacing of the mount made the monitor such that the VGA port became covered by the mount. Ultimately I had to force the VGA cable into the spot with the right screw on the cable unable to screw in.

I had to review a youtube video to take the cover apart to remove the stand holder so I could use the VESA mount. I was apparently not cautious enough as I cracked the at bot the upper right and left corners. It works fine, just annoys me that I cracked the case.

However, there is no way to dim the brightness when I am using them at night. I can use the "eye saver mode", which helps a little, but that is the only option.

I always buy samsung monitors / tvs. I've never had problems with them, and they look slick. I also like the eye saver made, which helps with prolonged use of the monitors.
