Wouldn’t pair with the matching soundbar

It has a proprietary dongle that comes with it instead of just pairing via Bluetooth. Since it was open box I couldn’t exchange it and a new unit is 499 so I had to submit a geek squad claim. Hopefully they can figure it out. I’m 99% sure that the problem is that stupid dongle.

Thank you for purchasing this Samsung SWA-W700 Subwoofer. I am sorry to hear that you were not completely satisfied with the subwoofer sound performance.
Please know that when a subwoofer is connected to the soundbar, the Bass button on the remote becomes the Subwoofer key. You can push the button up or down to adjust the subwoofer volume.
Because the subwoofer is designed to pick up and amplify low frequency sounds, you won’t always hear it. To test if the sub-woofer is working properly, we recommend you play a Blu-ray or UHD DVD movie with plenty of explosions, and place your hand on the subwoofer. You should feel vibrations as the unit receives and transmits the incoming audio from the content.
Another good test is to play music content with deep bass via Bluetooth connection, as it is not dependent on “effects” decoding.

I am very sorry your Samsung subwoofer did not connect to your soundbar. From your other review, I see that you purchased the HW-S40T Soundbar. This model does not have a compatible subwoofer. The SWA-W500 Subwoofer is compatible with the HW-S60T Soundbar model. The SWA-W700 Subwoofer is compatible with the Sound+ Soundbar models (HW-MS550, HW-MS650, HW-MS6500, HW-MS750, HW-NW700).

Unsatisfactory

After trying numerous times I decided to return the item for another unit assuming I got a faulty subwoofer. Brought second unit home and exactly same issue. Returned to store and the assistant manager of the TV department tried to connect with no luck. Same problem I was having. So, bought an entirely different sound bar. Happy enough with the new unit but, the initial subwoofer was awful. Hard to rate since me nor the Best buy manager couldn't make it work. I'd give it a zero star rating.

Dropping bottoms
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I've had the Samsung Soundbar+ HW-MS650/ZA for awhile and I was satisfied with the bass that the built-in subwoofer pumped out... but was I really though. I gave this sub a try and I was so amazed! The bass is clear, powerful and very low distortion. I have it next to my couch and it shakes the couch whenever there is loud action sound. One con for me was that there is no grill protecting the woofer. So I fixed that by having the woofer facing my couch. Overall, this was an expensive add-on but has been well worth it so far. It comes with a wireless receiver that must be connected to the Soundbar. FYI!! You must have a Samsung Soundbar+ (HW-MS750/ZA, HW-MS6500/ZA, HW-MS650/ZA) for this to work.

Pure Samsung Garbage

I ignored the bad reviews I wanted this sound system to work really bad for video gaming mostly. Two subwoofers and the soundbar was my last chance. I lost all faith in Samsung with there cheap, expensive garbage.
