    My 1st 4K UHD Blu-Ray Disc Player & I love it !!!

    This was my very 1st 4K UHD Blu-Ray Disc Player and I love it. After updating it I played a few discs and it's one of the best players I have ever owned. Blu-Ray Disc play very well and the video quality is amazing. I also did buy 2 4K UHD Blu-Ray Disc Avengers: Infinity War and Justice League so I can't want to test The HDR features on the player. Also I like the apps selection on the player via the Samsung Apps Hub. Good player and I rate this a 5/5 !!!

    First I got this player on sale at $99. A steal. So if you aren't in a hurry wait for the sales. It plays the discs fine and loads fast. There are some setting like picture mode.. I just keep mine on 'standard' ..same as the TV.. The sound- I have it going to a 17 yr old Yamaha receiver via the optical output. For some movies I have to change the setting for DD 5.1 sound. Why ? Well for one..my receiver doesn't have HDMI inputs and the player actually has newer DTS settings and DD settings that my receiver doesn't have due to its age. BUT with an easy settings adjustment it plays in 5.1 just fine.. I'm guessing if I had a newer receiver with the same sounds via HDMI instead of Optical, I probably wouldn't have to keep adjusting but it's really no big deal. All in all a fine player but if you can get it on sale and don't mind waiting it'll make it even better.

    DOES NOT PLAY 3D Blu-ray Discs back in 3D

    Best Buy lists this as "3D-Ready Yes " but this is in fact incorrect. Contacting Customer service @ Samsung says the same thing YES on 3D Blu-rays but a number of users who actually got their hands on these confirmed NO, just like all the other Samsung 4K UHD Blu-ray players from 2017 - none of them play 3D Blu-rays.

    I purchased this somewhere else for financing reasons but otherwise I am an Elite Best Buy Member. This is a top dollar machine ! Plays movies perfectly. Has great connectivity with Samsung TVs etc. Watching 4K movies on this is insane !!

    Ok so I like to start my review off with some background. I LOVE Samsung products normally. I have Note 8, Gear 3 watch, 360 camera, hard drives, 34 inch monitor, etc. I have to say, DO NOT BUY THIS BLU-RAY PLAYER!! So after purchasing, it was in a box for 3 weeks or so. Wife and I didn't have any 4k titles yet and just had our first kid, so we had other priorities. When setting up it/connecting it, I accidentally unplugged my TV. Normally not a big deal, but immediately I started having issues with the Arc controls from the TV to my audio receiver. I thought I shorted out the TV or something... Who would have thought this blu-ray player was the cause!! Well, it was. I thought either the TV or receiver was going out because we were having issues while watching cable. The problems progessed until yesterday, we were watching our first 4k title(The Greatest Showman is AMAZING!!). When I went to pause it, it would keep starting and stopping on it's own. Eventually it got so bad I couldn't get it to even turn off or any of my other devices to turn off! Something with the RF signal was disruppting everything. The light on the front just kept flashing every color available!! After spending HALF the day, I finally got BB to send me a new unit that I plan to trade in/return for another model. I basically stayed on the line with the rep until she got with the manager to offer me some type of return(I'm at 48 or 49 days since purchase, but only been connected a few weeks). I will return this once the new one arrives and get the LG that's on sale right now. I didn't mind the wired connection(we didn't even use it) because we have a smart TV and with Arc, everything works fine. One other thing I REALLY didn't like about this, was that when we would watch a dvd(we only watched a couple), if you walked away long enough for it to shut off, you had to start at the begining... very annoying.

    No Wi-Fi? In 2019?!?

    What’s the point in a $200 DVD player that’s not WiFi enabled? All these streaming service you have the ability to use - but the caveat is that you can only use it in the room where your internet router, etc are placed. Whose still designing stuff that doesn’t use WiFi? I bought this for a guest room where there’s no cable TV. At least guest will be able to stream clear television. No so. This is a waste of time UNLESS you plan to use it in the room where your internet is hard wired. Too bad because I was really excited.

    Never Worked and still waiting for repair 2 months

    Brought home the unit and it never worked. We called Samsung and they helped troubleshoot the unit. It was determined that the unit need to be shipped back to Samsung. The shipping label did not arrive until the second phone call. We have had to call Samsung at least 10 times. It was determined that the unit would be replaced. They needed approval from Refund and Exchange. We have been waiting over 3 weeks for that approval. I was given the phone number of Refund and Exchange but the number has been disconnected. I never get resolution and I am told that someone will call me, we even arrange a date and time for Samsung Refund and Exchange to call me. I have never received a phone call. We have been going through this process for 2 months now and still have no resolution.

    Unresponsive after a year

    I wish I had gotten a protection plan when I bought this player. Two months out of manufacturer's warranty, and it failed. Unresponsive to the remote control, and the buttons on the front of the unit. Powering off, it turns itself back on: Ghost In The Machine? Disconnecting from power did not self-correct when turned on again the next day. Chatted with Samsung about this and the rep said it sounds like a hardware issue.

    Worst dvd player

    I have had this DVD player for one month and and still can’t get it to work on a consistent basis. When it doesn’t work the little green light blinks and nothing including the remote does not function. I called Samsung and they were absolutely no help. I had it one day and they told me I could mail it back. Really

    Had it for 4 days and everytime I put a 4k blu ray in, the movie cuts completely out. Only does it when watching a 4k blu ray. Very disappointed.
