I purchased this unit for a customer who already owns a Samsung TV thinking it would integrate better for his remote control operation. He records DVDs of his own on his computer and claims he's played the discs successfully on previous players, but several--though not all!--of his discs cause the Samsung to lock up and require power cycling to restart. Additionally, he complains that the unit lacks a visible front panel power indicator to assist him in system operation, since his Samsung TV will not permit selection of the corresponding HDMI input unless the player is switched on first. Although his TV remote will do some disc player functions and vice versa, the recommendation and purchase did not work out nearly as well as hoped.

This is a nice looking Blu-ray player. It works good and the remote is easy to navigate.

I am pleased with this product, however, all the cords were provided and purchased separately.

Purchased this for myself and liked so much I purchased another one for my grandson. The only drawback is that you can't tell if the unit is on or off because there is no on or off light on the front of the unit. It is a great first time Blu- ray player for the price.

Replaced outdated DVD player. Selection was based upon reviews, connections, & compatibility with sound system.

I wanted a very basic bare bones blu-ray player without wasting money on features I didn't need since my tv has most of them such as the apps. I just basically bought this to replace my broken blu-ray player until the better 4k blu-ray players come down in price a little. This is the perfect one to hold me over.

So far so good, good price, good brand, simple to operate.

I recently purchased this for my kids and they love it. It is durable and if it breaks then it can be replaced for a low a sum.

This item seems to fail often so I usually need to pick up a new one every 3-4 years but at the price point, considering the quality it offers - I don’t mind it as the newer ones always offer a little bit more for a little bit less in price.

Samsung is a great and dependable brand. I chose it whenever available. The blu-ray is just another great Samsung product.

It plays blu-ray fine, as well as files off of a USB stick. The main menu screen is easy to read ,navigate and find the apps you want to play. However the main problem with this player is the lack of apps. The box says 250+ apps but that's a lie. Maybe 100 apps in total 90% of which are useless and doubt anyone actually uses. They have the big 4 (Netflix, Hulu, Amazon, YouTube) but that is basically it. No Crackle, no WWE, no HBO. Really pathetic! Also, this unit has no power light on the front to let you know if it's on or off. Which would be very helpful considering this unit does not turn on sometimes?
