If you're going to play movies on disks just get a Blu-ray. Unless you run a testing lab you probably won't find significant differences between most brands and models. Most players are "smart" giving you access streaming services whether you need it or not. Read customer reviews, compare prices and look for sales. You don't have to pay a lot for good quality. This player was good enough for me! It's nice looking too.

my Blu-rays and DVDs are clear and the ease of operation is great. Call me old fashioned but I do prefer a few lights but this does not affect the overall performance of the unit.

I don't have a smart tv, but I do have a Samsung flatscreen. I subscribe to Netflix and Amazon Prime, so the smart way to go was a Wi-Fi Blu-ray DVD player, now I have the best of both worlds. I have recommended this same scenario to a co-worker and she did the same thing.

Found a returned one for a lot less than retail and snatched it up without hesitation. Found out it didn't have the proprietary remote control, but I was able to use my RF blaster on my cellphone to control the player easily. Definitely worth the ~30 bucks I paid.

I have barely had any problems with this Blu Ray player! The most that has happened is if I'm binging on Netflix it will freeze after many hours. But a quick reset and it's as good as new. This doesn't happen every time, either. Just once in a while. I think it's great quality for the price!

The dvd player did everything it says it does, however I did have trouble with it disconnecting from the Internet in the beginning. Considering my router is brand new I thought that was odd. Other than that it is great for watching movies and Netflix. It's easy to use which I love most

The bluejay plays as expected but there is no way to tell if it's on or off from just looking at the machine. You either have to have the TV on when powering up or down or just unplug. My daughter will turn it on by the button on the front but we won't catch it till the tv is powered on
