a tech nightmare

Unfortunately for me, it wasn't worth the buy. It had to be updated within a day of use. The box claims "over 250+ apps" but it was difficult to find more apps to add. After linking the apps available I wanted to use, it began to give technical issues. I called Samsung for help and they fixed the issue. After another day of use, there were more technical issues while using the apps. I had been using the player for four days and had given up with the technical charade so i returned it. It may have been a great product for the few hours I have used it but the tech issues were just too much. I definitely must've gotten a defective item.

Poor design

Problems with wireless connection

Tech support said it needed an update. They failed to send instructions in 3 days so I returned to Best Buy. Employees at Best Buy allowed me to return it for full credit.

Wifi problem

A friend is a computer tech and he could only set up using a cable from a wifi extender setup that i luckily had stored away. Do not buy the wifi model! Save your money and just get the regular one

Think Twice
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I was just going to get a basic DVD player to replace our dead one but my wife wanted to get this since it had smart capabilities. A couple weeks ago, it stopped connecting to the internet. I checked online and its apparently related to a software upgrade from what I could tell. There was a newer firmware upgrade that I performed the other night on this with a direct ethernet cable which allowed me to see my wireless network again, connect to it and show full coverage. But it still does not connect to ethernet to allow Netflix, prime, pandora etc to work. It also shows conflicting messages about connection now. I guess I will be contacting Samsung now.

Difficult to use

Not a good purchase

This player would stop working in the middle of netflix movie-freeze .dont waste your money-traded it for an more expensive Sony player-happy now

No on light - can't tell on/off

Can't tell on/off then you hit the power button again and you've shut it down. It has a long delayed response to the power button. Going to get a replacement and relegate this one to the basement.

Cheap junk

I found out by searching on the internet that lots of people are having that problem. I bought 4 year geek squad with it,but they would not replace or refund because it was still within the manufacturer warranty. Best Buy sent it back to Samsung. I don't think that will accomplish anything,because it will probably have the same problem again. I will definitely think twice before buying Samsung products in the future. If Samsung replies to my comment,I am not interested in your accuses. I want a full refund.

Poor Performance

The screen keeps freezing up and then we have to unplug the device, plug it back in and restart it to get it to boot up.

No way to download more; called Samsung & they said that device only comes with what's loaded on it. The device cannot retrieve additional apps.

Can't watch a full movie

Turn it off it cools off , back on plays for about 10 minutes then stops or skips again. I dont recomend this for DVD or BlueRay movies.

Once that it did not sync on second try I exchanged it and did not did much of troubleshooting.

no longer a fan of Samsung blu-ray players

I have a different brand now, and no issues whatsoever.
