I found this BR on sale for only 50 bucks. I was so happy, a samsung? I didn't think twice. But it was a mistake: it doesn't have any LEDs, so you don't if it's on. Then you are watching netflix, and all of a sudden, the screen freezes. You try to turn it off, to press home and nothing happens. You have to unplugged the device. Forget that. After updating the firmware and patiently wait for a week to see any improvement, I went back to the store and I got a sony s3700, which I love. Before returning the samsung, I did soem research, and it lookd like this model has been giving problems to the consumers for about two years.

The over all performance of this player isn't bad but it is pretty loud as far as sound wise. If you try and watch a movie real low you will definitely hear the player in the back ground. Bugs me pretty bad honestly.

Purchased to replace Sony player that had wi-fi card failure. All internet apps worked for about 2 weeks then Opera app ceased to work. Several calls to Samsung led to having my ISP checkout my wireless internet system checked out. It was found to be working perfectly. Back to Samsung with no solutions. So what I basically bought a dumb "smart" blue-ray player.

The on screen functions for screen size are confusing and no notification of on or off and it responds slowly. Don't like it the picture is no better then my DVD player, playing the same movie on the same TV.

This item works ok but with no lights on the front to indicate that the item is on and every time we turn this item on it seems it needs an update. Given the opportunity again I would not purchase this particular item.

Bought this unit in November, and watched 1 DVD, worked fine. Tried to use it again in May, powered on for 10 minutes and shut off, wouldn't turn back on. Tried again a week later, powered on for a few minutes and shut itself off again, wouldn't turn back on. Contacted Best Buy, and after being transferred to 3 different departments was told I could not return or exchange it and referred me to Samsung. Couldn't be more disappointed in Best Buy's commitment to their customers satisfaction, and the return policy is weak at best, probably won't be back. Thank you very little Best Buy.

This unit makes noise when playing a dvd and moving thru menu items, but even more annoying; every time I stop a movie then turn the device back on later I have to begin all over again. It is like a dinosaur.

Most electronic I have is Samsung. I've always had good luck with them. The blu-ray player worked great but I could never get it to connect to the wifi which was the whole purpose of me getting one.

Very limited selection of apps available. Volume levels vary greatly between apps. Blu-Ray had to be turned up to 100 on the tv. Randomly shuts off after long run times. Probably returning this one.

This Blu ray player worked horribly. I had a hard time making a network connection. And once the network connection was made, it wouldn't load any of the apps like Hulu, Netflix, Pandora, etc. It kept giving me a warning saying 'network connecting..." I used the blu ray player once I became tired of trying to fix the network problem. It would only play the blu ray for 2 or 3 minutes and it would automatically turn off. I'd have to unplug it and plug it back in just to get it started again. I took it back to best buy and bought a whole new brand of Blu ray player.

Sometimes less is more, but not this time. You can't even tell it is on, there are no indicator lights on the unit at all. I've experienced 1/2 second drop outs of audio and image freeze while viewing.

I purchased this Smart player to add a second streaming device on a TV that isn't smart and it didn't really work. Setup didn't go too smooth as it didn't see the WiFi and kept dropping connection. Never used the network cable since it was suppose to be WiFi - exchanged it for something that wasn't Samsung and didn't have a problem with it! (the replacement was a Sony BDP-S3700)

I spent too many hours trying to get this to work with my LG tv and wifi - talked to techs - got thumb drive with update - still no luck - returned it for Apple TV - up & running in a snap!

The actual DVD portion of this device is great. But I had nothing but issues when trying to connect to my home Wifi, ended up taking this item back and buying something completely different

I order two of these online and had them shipped to me. Neither unit worked when I set them up. By the time I brought them to the store it was past the return date so I had to get store credit.

I've never been impressed with the GUI on these Samsung devices, but I needed a cheap Blu-ray player for the kids' room. Well, this is both cheap and a Blu-ray player, but it's pretty awful otherwise. It's super slow -- even to read a CD for audio. Its wi-fi has always been unreliable, but after just a little more than one year, it refuses to connect to the network. It lasted just long enough to outlive its warranty. Couple that with the flimsy plastic construction and I probably will never take a risk on Samsung again for this type of device.

Worked fine in the beginning but, after a year, this player will play Blu-rays only about 50% of the time and won't play DVDs at all.

No light to see if unit is powered up or not. Half of the time I couldn't get it to turn on. Replaced with a Sony for a few more dollars

I have been using this product since mid December. I have the bluray player running to a Samsung flat-screen and connected to Comcast wifi. The product was initially functioning properly, however, a software update was loaded to the product in early January. Since then, the product will turn off intermittently, the amazon prime app will not function, and the wifi connection is intermittently dropped. I've opened a ticket w/Samsung but no viable solution has yet to be provided. Unfortunately, I will be returning this product.

Works great but colors are off on any program or disk that runs through the device. Grayish. I used my bosses account but I can't find the number. I think we are an Elite member.
