needed for DVD and later Blu Ray purchases and o match other equiptiment

After reading reviews, shopping online for features and comparing prices this blu ray player has met my needs . I needed a player with built in wifi . Easy setup for WIfi and Netflix connection . So far no complaints .

Not compatible with the HBO app! I hope they make an update to fix this. No on/off light. It can be annoying. Otherwise it works perfectly. Plays blue rays and streams netflix flawlessly.

I bought the first one 3 weeks ago. Seemed to be working great. Then I decided to have a marathon day of watching a TV series on Netflix. After about 3 hours it froze and then 't turn back on. Took it back yesterday to exchange it. Behind me in line was another customer with the same issue, bought about the same time. I still decided to exchange it for the same model. Came home to continue my marathon. Low and behold, after about 3 hours, it froze and won't turn on. Shame as otherwise it was a great device.

Perfect, good quality player, just what we wanted.

I bought this because my old DVD player puttered out and I needed Netflix, Hulu, etc... access as well. I bought this instead of a DVD player and Fire Stick. It has all of the major streaming services but it does not get HBONOW, SHOWTIME, and the like. My only other beef is that it does not have any lights so I can't tell if it is getting power unless I turn on my television. Also, it does not have any DVD controls on the unit so if you lose the remote you're out of luck.

This blu-ray player has all the features I needed, wireless Wi-Fi, easy to read remote buttons. Program setup up was simple. Samsung is a great brand. Power LED is a great feature also.

I'm returning this item to Best Buy tomorrow. It works fine although the user interface is kind of clunky. I think all these streaming devices probably are, however. But the reason I'm returning it is there is no indicator light to indicate if the unit is off or on. When it's off, it doesn't appear in my TV's device list, so I get frustrated trying to figure out if it's a TV issue or a blue-ray issue. Plenty of other options, so this one's going back.

Pros: Good feature set for the money including built-in WiFi support. Cons: No power indicator light so it's hard to tell when its powered on. The WiFi reception is problematic. I need to have it very close to my AP to have a reliable connection. When the WiFi is working, though, it streams video (e.g. NetFlix) really well. I haven't had the opportunity to try the wired networking which may be better.

There are so many reasons that I hope someone reads this and does NOT buy this thing. I have bought a few SONY blu ray wifi players and for some ungodly reason, I decided to get this one. There is no indicator light so you can't tell when it's on or off if it decided to sleep. It shuts off/freezes when I'm watching netflix and decide I want to watch the next episode. I have to unplug and plug it back in almost every time I want to do something else with it. It was too expensive to be this much of a pain and this worthless. DON'T BUY THIS BLU RAY PLAYER.

Very disappointed in this Bluray player. I read reviews before purchase and decided this one would be a good fit. But it won't stay connected to wifi, always has to buffer, always have to search for wifi and put my password in and sometimes won't let me connect then. It freezes a lot so I have to unplug it and plug it back in for it to work. Also found unplugging it makes it work better for a bit but then starts acting up again. Thank goodness I got 2 yr geek squad protection

Will be returning for 2nd time! Does not work well with WIFI. Will not stay hooked up to WIFI. Very poor with Netflix. You Tube works better but still trouble with WIFI. OK Blue Ray player. Had some issues with door opening. Also no indicator light on the front make it very hard to know if power is on or off. NOT HAPPY

This is my first blue ray player and love it! I purchased to watch Netflix and watch movies.

I'm happy with the product, love the Pandora. But would it have been too much trouble to include a "power on" indicator light? You have to guess.

Love this item so far. I have a Samsung TV, when I plugged it in, they both picked up each other. Remotes also recognize each other with no issues.

This unit will not allow close captioning to be used. My TV itself has the Close Captioning turned on, so it's not my TV. All settings within the DVD player don't allow you to turn on any close captioning. For a family that has people in it who are deaf, this is not acceptable. We will be returning this item.

as described, easy to use, small footprint, wish it came with HDMI cable

Nice, compact unit with good picture quality. I've only used it to watch DVD/Blu-Ray movies so far but that feature works very well. I do wish the remote was a little easier to use without having to actually look at it for simple things like FF/REW/PAUSE.
