    It worked

Right off the bat it was working with the media functions of my Mitsubishi TV remote control. This really impressed me to the point that I didn't both with the included remote control. The functions worked well but I did get occasional internet drops on this that I never get with my Roku or Samsung TV which are both on the same wilan.

    Worst device I ever bought

I can't believe Samsung makes this blue ray player. It doesn't connect to WiFi. All my other devices work fine with my WiFi. There is no light to indicate if the player is on or off. It is a complete trash.

This is the second unit I have purchased. The first one last about a year and a half before it started having issues. It would randomly restart while watching Netflix. Other than that one annoying piece the unit was great. I bought a new and this time added on the 4 year GSP coverage in case that happens again

Please note that a small number of units may have experienced an issue while trying to connect to Netflix. There is a firmware update that will address this, so if you are asked to update your firmware please do so by clicking “ok” on the pop up window. If you have any further connection issues, please contact Samsung Customer Service at 1-800-SAMSUNG.

This dvd player completely died just 2 months after the warranty, other wise it was a really good dvd player. This is the reason I only gave it 3 stars because it died so soon. I've had other dvd players that lasted years beyond the warranty.

Worked ok when we purchased but problems with staying connected. Now won't work at all, just a blank screen. No on/off indicator light to add to diagnostic challenge. Taking this back today.

Read all the reviews and decided to go with this player. I was happy for the first week..it was easy to setup and stream Netflix and Amazon through it. The second week we were watching Netflix and it seized up and we couldn't turn it off. Unplugged the player and it worked after. A couple of days later, the same thing happened. We had one more instance of this happening and decided enough was enough. Taking it back. Also, as others have stated it is annoying that the player doesn't have an indicator light to show if it's on or off.

This piece of s#%t weighs like two ounces and doesn't have any lights to let you know if it's on or even working. Mine worked for about four weeks and quit. Do not purchase this item!

    Not good for streaming

I purchased this bluray player in November 2015 and for the first few months it was great. I had no problem streaming Netflix and no problems with the player at all. Now it's August and I am having to unplug the player at least once a day because it freezes and causes the screen to go black and will not allow you to turn it off. I am having to re-input my wifi password into the player every single day as soon as a start the player otherwise even though it says it's connected and my signal is great I cannot stream anything. It's more of a hassle and I wish I had never made this purchase because of how inconvenient it becomes to attempt to stream anything. I'll be looking to buy an Apple TV and never go back to Samsung for anything.

    two strikes, out

I bought one, and it was dead-on-arrival. Returned it, and the second one seemed DOA also. By the way, the Best Buy folks were super nice and super helpful.... In frustration I wiggled wires, which were only 2 - the network wire and the HDMI wire. When the HDMI was wiggled, the box started up and functioned as expected. Actually, it did a real nice job and was just fine. Then I shut it off. Same problem. It didn't want to turn on. Neither from the remote, nor from the front panel power button. Again I wiggled the HDMI wire and it started up. I downloaded the full user manual and found there is no feature for "complete shut down", which is fine, but didn't explain why it wouldn't turn on. So, back went the second unit to Best Buy. I exchanged it for a different make. Note this purchase was to replace a very old Samsung Blue-ray player which performed very well for many years and was just worn out. One other thing, the online widget choices were very sparse. There were hardly any, and none that I was hoping for. The other brand has over 300, and everything I wanted is in it. Oh, well. Certainly not Best Buy's fault, and not characteristic of Samsung. Just wanted to report my experience.

    Open Box Blahs

True, I saved a few coins buying open box but I encountered troubles from the very day of hook-up. First obstacles was no type of user manual at all, good thing I know a little about how these things work. Then, after getting it connected I turn it o and go to Netflix and someone else's account is already set up. This is the part where I needed the manual to easily set up my account. I finally figured it out. I've pretty much enjoyed the player since then even though at times it would freeze up and lose wi-fi connection. Recently, it's been doing that a lot. I'm watching a movie and it just freezes. The only button on the remote that works is the on/off button. To get any screens up I have to unplug the unit and re-plug it. You can imagine this frustration.

    Lagging..

So I bought this blu-ray player because it was what the associate recommended. I got it at the same time as my new Samsung 65" 4K LED TV, and he said buying a Samsung Blu-Ray player would be better than going with another brand because they "talk" better. I didn't really want this one, only because the grooves seem like they will collect a lot of dust whereas the LG one was smoother. Biggest problem I'm having is that my movies seem to be lagging...not for very long maybe half a second every 20-30 minutes or so..but it's definitely noticeable and irritating considering I just bought this amazing new tv and player and that shouldn't be happening. If anyone has any ideas why this could be happening please send them my way!
