    No on off light is just ridicules !!!! Every time I want to stream content this device is somehow disconnected from my wireless network & I need to reconfigure it all over again. The unit sits next to my internet connected Samsung TV that is always connected to the same wireless network and works perfectly, I can't t return this Samsung junk to Best Buy soon enough.

    I can't believe the four-star rating and 90% buy recommendation, given all the negative reviews and my own experience. I bought two of these units at approximately the same time. One has been trouble-free; the other has been a lemon. Two months after I bought the lemon, I experienced all the the problems that everyone's written about: It would freeze up, it would power off by itself, it would lose its wifi connection, and, overall, it was painfully slow. I sent it in for warranty work, but it came back with a clean bill of health. The Samsung tech could not replicate any of the problems I identified. The problems continued. I found myself constantly unplugging, replugging, reinitializing, reinputting my wifi code ... and still the unit would crash. The lack of any power indicator on the unit made troubleshooting even more difficult. When I attempt to reinitialize the unit now, the DVD tray takes on a life of its own, sliding in and out repeatedly, and then the unit powers off before I'm able to complete the wifi sign-in process. I give up.

    Purchased one and after about 3 months it stopped playing DVDs. We bought another for Christmas for our kids and the new one stopped reading Blue Ray! Figured we still had the old one and hooked it up and that one wouldn't read Blue Ray. The same disks are perfect and clean and play fine on other players. Also, one little irritating feature it lacks is a power light. You never know if it is off or not. I don't recommend this player.

    Good player, reasonable speed. Great price. My only problem with this model is it doesn't have a light to indicate that it is on.

    WiFi Problem

    I did read some others having WiFi connection issue with this product, but I thought it should not be a problem because my Xfinity cable modem is right at the entertainment center. But it did not matter. It had an issue at the first trying to connect. Unconnected and reconnected the cable modem and it worked. But while Netflix being idle for a while, it kicked me off-line. Tried reconnect unsuccessfully. Ended up using Ethernet to connect online. I bought this today but I think I'm returning it tomorrow.

    I went on a DVD watching binge over the Christmas holiday and this player worked great. Then suddenly it started restarting itself constantly. If I'm lucky, I can get 10 minutes into a DVD before it shuts off and starts over, but it's usually closer to 1 or 2 minutes. This is a known issue with samsung blu-ray players from what I have found on the internet, though they offer no support in fixing it.

    Good for disc horrible wifi

    I sellected this unit as it is the same brand as my television. I liked the size as it fitted on a condensed shelf. The first unit we bought would not even find a wifi spot, had to return. The second unit finally got it connected after an hour and it worked, although later dumped my wifi and now will not connect. I have many wifi devices in my house, including other Blu-Rays, tablets, computers, roku's, wii, etc, etc, and this is the only item I have ever purchased that was junk for wifi. If you don't want to watch netflix or amazon and only plan on watching disc go for it. Any other use, pass on it.

    I wasted a great deal of time trying to set up my Harmony remote to work this fool thing. Nothing seemed to work. That's only because there is NO light to indicate to fool thing is turned on. How cheap & how stupid can they be? I realized this when I tried using the original remote. Right now I have no idea if it's on or off. I played a movie on it last night. Seems to work OK.

    I have 2 of these machines. I have one outdoors on my patio, which initially did not connect with my Wi-Fi. I moved it just inches away from my non-Wi-Fi TV, and the connection was made. Placement is important!

    I bought this product 4 months ago in March. Now, in July, suddenly the streaming apps no longer work consistently. Mostly not at all. If I select either Amazon, YouTube, or Netflix, I'm met with a message that reads "System time is updating. Please try again later." The only app that consistently loads is Vudu, but I'm sure it's only a matter of time before it fails, too. Sometimes, if I wait long enough, like 15-30 minutes, then the apps will miraculously load, but I usually won't wait that long. When I Googled this problem, I saw a lot of costumer reviews outside of this Best Buy page who have the same problem, and no one has been able to offer a fix. In these reviews, the customers all say that they received terrible help from Samsung reps and spent hours dealing with the problem, only to have no solution. If you Google "Samsung blu ray player" and "System time is updating," you'll see more of what I'm talking about. Hopefully, when I take this back to Best Buy this week, they'll allow me to exchange for a better brand. I'm surprised that this product has such a high rating on here when so many people are having the same problem apparently.

    At first it was working fine, but now it keeps tuning on and off, on and off on us! I tried upgrading it, but that didn't seem to help! I definitely DO NOT recommend this product. Your money is better spent on something else. I expected a good quality product considering that it's samsung, but it looks like I was mistaken. SAVE YOUR MONEY!!

    Excellent video quality. I have had a few issues with the wi/fi and hooking up to my Amazon Prime account, but would still recommend this product.
