Amazon Prime Troubles
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have two of these Blu-Ray players which I bought to use with Amazon Prime video. I bought one over a year ago and it still works well, so I bought another one in Feb 2016. In May 2016, Amazon stopped working on the new player and I got errors connecting to my wireless network. Best Buy exchanged it for a new player. Yesterday the replacement player had the same problems with Amazon. Best Buy has changed their policy, refused to replace the player and said to call Samsung. Samsung told me the problem was with Amazon. Amazon said the problem must be with the app on the player and that model is not on their compatible list. The only difference between the two players is that the one that doesn't work got a software upgrade at some point. Samsung, of course, says that can't be the problem. Bottom line: If you want to use Amazon, get a different player or at least don't upgrade the software.

Poor Choice of Blu-Ray
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. Will never buy Samsung again. Product starts ok but after 2 weeks wireless is sketchy and bounces on and off and won't connect. Freezes up constantly. Pros: none, not even the price since it was $20-30 more than others such as Sony Cons: Constantly wireless issue, even though every other device functions fine in house.DVD player is 10 ft from wireless, inconsistent work. Very disappointing. When it works the apps work it is good but you never know when it is going to work. I refuse to see how it can be the router when every other device works just fine.

Worked for a year, then just died
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The player worked fine initially, although, as others have said, it's not too smart and feels pretty cheesy. No matter, I wanted it mainly for streaming, but needed a player with built-in wi-fi. After one year, from one day to the next, it inexplicably wouldn't turn on anymore. With hardly any moving parts, I don't understand why. I did try with new batteries in the remote, I tried turning it on manually at the unit, I tried unplugging and plugging it back in. My conclusion: POOR QUALITY--buyer beware!

Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.this unit stopped working in 3 months! Could not get DVD out seized up on me. VERY disappointed in SAMSUNG for this. No digital readout whatsoever should of avoided this unit from the start but was told it was a good one.

works okay
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I had some issues with the wi-fi connect at first but it worked it self out. When I play a disk I do hear some noise but not enough to be annoying. I wish the return on the was longer than 15 days i would have gotten a better player

Terrible product, terrible cust support
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.LOOOONNGGGG story short, this item's WiFi sucks. I spent a ton of time with customer service "problem solving," doing things AGAIN for THEM after I've already done them on my own. (it would not connect to WiFi that was working fine for my Samsung phones and my Toshiba laptop. It DID work perfectly fine when it was hardwired to the router). Samsung FINALLY agreed that my unit was faulty. I sent it off to be repaired and it was sent back with a note saying it was fixed, but was STILL not connecting to WiFi. I vowed to not buy another Samsung Blu-ray player (this was my second J5700--first one also had different problems immediately out of the box) but I figured I'd go full-Rambo on Samsung if another one failed. The new Samsung was AMAZING (j6300)! It instantly connected to WiFi. Fast forward a year. This new one now has persistent jerking audio on Netflix and Amazon Prime, but BluRay discs and Hulu movies stream fine (not Hulu shows). It was only 'occasionally jerky' the previous 6 months. I bought the extended warranty knowing something had to happen with this player, so I'll be getting a Sony or LG.

Love Samsung
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. As much as I love Samsung products, this one really let me down. Of course, I believe Best Buy was partly to blame. We can be in the middle of watching a movie on Netflix and the Blu-ray player will just shut down and you can't even turn it back on for like 30 minutes. Like I said, I believe this could be in part because I bought a display model and even though they guaranteed it, they didn't check it out very well before sending it to me.

Turns off without warning
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I am very dissatisfied with this product. I have exchanged it three times, hoping that it was just a fluke, but the player turns off unexpectedly and won't turn back on until I physically unplug and plug it back in.. every time. This is very inconvenient and annoying most times. It also doesn't help that there is no indicator light on the player.

No Power On Light - Not User Friendly
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. There is not "power on" light, which means you could unintentionally have left it powered on for weeks/months when you are not using it but you would never know. The lack of a light can also add challenges to getting it to work because you might think you have set the wrong inputs on the TV but in fact its not working because the DVD Player itself is not powered on (press once its on, twice off, three times on again, four off, - a person can lose track especially when they are trying to use the remote and aren't' sure if the signal is reaching the dvd unit). Samsung - would it have killed you to add a power on indicator light to make this thing more user friendly? Once I discovered this design flaw, I took it back and purchased a different brand with a power indicator light. Hey Design Engineers - make it user friendly or lose our business!!!!
