Don't waste your money
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. As it plays DVDs & Blu-Rays well it's wifi connectivity is very poor to nonexistent. Connectivity is a constant issue. If your lucky enough to get it to connect, by the time you get to the app you want to use it disconnects again. Our internet service provider has been out and discounted their side of it and all other devices work just fine. Knowing this, Samsungs response was "not their problem". Really? So sad.

WIFI and hard wired no go
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. So I bought this as an open box model. It had a tape portion on it that said inspected so therefore you get the sense that everything is good to go. Not the case the Wi-Fi would not work no matter what I tried so I hard wired it to see if it was the units modem and it was. So I am thinking someone took this back the first time said it doesn't connect they taped it back up and said inspected yet didn't actually test anything. I took it back and bought the Sony that I should have in the first place. It works great.

Lasted a whole two months before it died
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Worst player ever...I'd rate it a zero if the system would let me. Two months after purchase (and maybe having used it 5 times) it doesn't work, and neither Best Buy nor Samsung stands by their product to replace it. I've spent the last several hours on the phone with Samsung after trying to take it back to Best Buy first. Don't waste your time or your frustration. It was lovely for the 5 times I got to use it, so if you can afford to buy a new one every 5 days, go for it. No more Samsung or Best Buy for me. What a waste.

Useless for streaming
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Literally had this for 3 months before it stopped connecting to the WiFi without a factory reset, and then that lasted for about 2 more weeks before it stopped working altogether. It's not the WiFi like the stupid device suggests in troubleshooting since literally every other device connects just fine. I'd rather get a cheaper "just a Blu-ray" player (which is next to impossible to find) and get a separate streaming device that will actually function.

Would never connect to network
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Since most reviews of this item were good I decided to give it a try, knowing I had the return period to fall back on. The first clue something wasn't right was when the player could not detect any of the 3 wireless connections I have from 2 different providers. So I entered the SSID names manually and after trying all 3 without success I boxed it up and returned it. I have since purchased a LG UBK90 and it has been flawless.

No ON/OFF indicator light
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. How hard would it have been to add a simple LED to show the device is on or off. So dumb. I would not recommend this player for this issue alone.

Junk! Don't buy!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I read the reviews about stopped/intermittent use but took a gamble and now I'm kicking myself. I read that it lasted 40 days. I read that it could be unplugged and rebooted. I read about firmware updates. Mine stopped within 3 days!! I never even had the chance to play a disc in it. Locked up during Netflix. I unplugged/rebooted 14 hours later and it came on but only to freeze again in the menu window. Don't buy this junk.

3rd one in 2 years
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The first one worked great, so we got a second one. That lasted about a year. This one is the third one and it conveniently stopped working after 2 months. Won't eject discs, won't turn on after it froze and needed to be unplugged. Doesn't do a darn thing. Highly disappointed with the purchase and with Best Buy's unwillingness to do anything because it's 12 days after the return period. Don't waste your time on it.

Erratic connectivity. Done with Samsung products
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Owned this blu ray player for approximately 4 months. It would work well for a few weeks at a time then develop connectivity issues. Required lots of powering down, hard resets, and router resets to resolve with varied rates of success. I used to hold Samsung products in high regard but after a TV failing at 12 months and now this...I'm moving on. Ordered a Amazon Fire TV and this thing will just be a blu ray/dvd player.

Will not stay connected to WiFi.
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is a flimsy product to start with. Then, a couple days after purchase, it would disconnect from the WiFi, and not reconnect, no matter what troubleshooting was done. Other devises in the house would work fine, except this player. Samsung is loosing ground here. I returned it and got a Sony, and its working perfect. For some reason, this model has issues. Stick with Sony or LG if this is your price range.

Samsung loosing quality
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Brand new already having mega issues. plays a movie then a few minutes into it, it stops and goes back to the beginning. No lights to indicate whether its on or off?? VERY plain, only two buttons on front. Power and eject. its like a toy. I'm returning and buying another brand because this one was replacing another Samsung that was a little less than 2 years old and stopped playing BR???

Lousy streaming device
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Worked well with Netflix but when I tried to connect to AmazonVideo it requires an update which locks the system up with a message "Browser is initializing, please wait...." If you don't load the update it gives an error message that is from BBC? WTF? It's on its way back to the store and I am going to buy a Roku. Consumer Affairs gives it a 1-star rating. I shoulda checked online before buying.

Defective
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This device requires frequent firmware upgrades where the device won't work otherwise. At point of purchase it already required an update. The firmware has to be from Samsung, this requires many phone calls and time. Samsung has no return policy so when it malfunctions or needs updates you r stuck with the product. Really bad device regret purchase. Samsung customer service is just as bad.

Quit connecting to the internet
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Very simple to hook up. Worked perfectly for one week and then it would not connect to the internet. (No problems with any other item in the house connecting.) Returned to BestBuy, great customer service, swapped it out for an identical model. Again, worked for one week and then would not connect - same exact problem. Taking it back now for a different manufacturer. Do not buy.

Disappointing & Frustrating WiFi Performance
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. We use the Samsung Blu Ray player for WiFi streaming only and the product has failed miserably. The unit continually disconnects from the WiFi causing us to reboot either the Blu Ray player or both the player and the router. After two years of fighting this product we're giving up and buying a Sony unit.

Bad wi-fi
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. Was a black friday purchase. After Christmas it worked great hooking to the wi-fi and then on third day it lost wi-fi and can't get it back. We've tried to manually input the settings. I haven't even gotten to try the blu-ray player yet. Everything else hooked to the wi-fi is fine (wired and wireless). I've read some reviews of the wi-fi card going bad.

Wouldn't connect via WiFi to the internet
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Tried two of these units and neither one would direct connect to the Internet. Samsung tech support could not help. Swapped it out finally for a Sony model BDP-S3700 and it easily recognized our home WiFi and connected easily with our security code. Would not recommend this player for internet connectivity.

Wanted just to watch Netflix
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Nothing but issues. Wouldn't connect to WIFI. Power wouldn't come on. When I did finally get it to work, it was always updating and I couldn't watch netflix. Sent it to Samsung for servicing and still had issues. Today after trying to use it for almost a year,I tossed it in the garbage
