Fast enough and big enough for my requirements. Good read/write speeds. Unless you are transferring files on a daily basis, this will do otherwise go for T7.

The Samsung T5 is by far the best external storage device I own. I have 6 of them now totaling 8tb of storage. Build quality is great. Fast. Reliable. Sexy. Big fan.

This is my first ssd external hd. So far it works great and I like the light weight and small size. I’m planning on picking another one or two up.

I don't have too much to say about this product - after all, it does one thing and it does it well - Store data. I've manually partitioned my T5 for use as a portable linux "drive" and everything works wonderfully. I've not had any issues with SWAP partition performance, in fact, I'm surprised it's been so fast. That Random IO performance really shows! Now I just have to see if I can enable the disk encryption and still be able to boot from the drive. But I don't really have any expectation for it to do so at this point. It would just be a nice bonus!

Perfect for mac users so fast using the usbc port. With the mac only having that port. Also the size is like a crdit card u could fit two of these in a pack of cards if that helps

Bought this for my PS5 and thank goodness I did. You've probably read the other reviews. The positive feedback for loading speed and gameplay is real. It's just as fast as the PS5 or faster. Either way, there is no reduce in speed/load time. One last thing.... HOW CAN A STORE BE OPEN FOR BUSINESS EVERYDAY, BUT DOESN'T ACCEPT PHONE CALLS HENRIETTA, NY?? I'm not scared of COVID-19, but without a pandemic, who is willing to drive to a store for a question? And no They don't return your calls after some person out-of state takes your message.

This thing is fast! I use it to run Windows on my iMac via USB C to USB C and it is just as fast as an internal SSD would be.

I love using these SSD for photo backups while on the road. A 1TB SSD is sufficient for 7 weeks of daily photos and short videos while traveling to visit many of the US National Parks. Simply plug them into your USB port on your laptop and copy the files to it each night. I use Lightroom to edit most of my images and can easily create a Catalog for the images during the trip, add to the catalog daily into folders named for each location, and then transfer the catalog to my master Catalog when I get home. I trust Samsung for reliability and like the fact there are no moving parts to damage like with a small disc drive.

This thing is great. Bought it for my ps5 for more storage for my ps4 games. Its fast and v very reliable, haven't had any problems.

My Laptop which is a Dell XPS 15 9570 has a SSD of 1B and I actually bought this for video editing and disk expansion and with its SS 3.0 USB it actually is just as fast as if I had a 2nd disk drive embedded in the laptop and there was no need to R&R the internal SSD to upgrade it to a SSD 2TB drive. Have seen no problems as of yet.

This drive is a great option if you don't have the scratch to go with an external NVME-type SSD. (If you don't know what that is, just look for something priced about 4x as much as this one with about 5x the speed via Thunderbolt instead of USB.) The T5 is reasonably priced for the performance level. Just be sure to use the provided cable because some USB-C charging cables don't do fast data transfer (looking at you, Apple). And don't try and save a few bucks on the WD MyPassport SSD, it's only half as fast as this one.

Despite perhaps being a bit on the expensive side, the extra money is worth it. I have a few of these drives and they are by far the only SSD brand I will buy for external or internal SSDs. I'm getting about 300 MB/s average read and write speed. I've tried other brands, but they didn't quite live up to the speed and reliability of the Samsung SSDs. Both the T5 and T7 are great drives. Of course some may say the value is not there, as they are more expensive than the competition, but they are durable and fast.

Best SDD drive I have ever had. It has 2 cables 1 thats USBC to USB or a staight USBC to USBC. Its very fast and reliable.

I have not had this item for very long but so far I’m very happy with my purchase. I’m relatively new to photography and one of the photographers I admire recommend buying it for its reliability and durability. Reliability and durability is very important to me because I travel a lot and typically find myself needing to offload pictures from my SD card (in fear of accidentally losing the data or running out of storage in the middle of a shoot) and editing photos in my downtime while traveling from one location to another. I recommend buying this item.
