A headache dealing with Samsung support

I went to Best buy to have the Geek Squad look at it but they couldn't figure out what was wrong either. I needed to film so I just bought another one. Maybe I got a bad one. My new one works fine. The reason for the one star is the footage I had is now gone. Reshoot!

Great bang for your buck

You have to reformat the device to get things connected. moving forward after OS Catalina for mac users it will no longer be supported by apples next OS upgrade

First Samsung SSD that I've returned

After sleeping, I'd see a message, "Disk not properly ejected", which is never a good sign for an external disk. Worked on that for several days before giving up and returning it. I've never had trouble with a Samsung SSD before, and I have several, so I assumed this one would be like the others and just work. For example, I have a Samsung X5 SSD that just works on the mac. Replaced this SSD with a SanDisk Extreme SSD, and that works well with the mac.

LOST MY DATA - Worthless!

Big waste of time and money and didn't work.

It never updated automatically, even though it was set up to do that. Had to have a Geek Squad member reload the software in order to do back up my files. I returned this product on 1/22/2020 because it was unreliable and just didn't work.

Make sure you need an SSD rather than a hard drive

I needed a normal hard drive for backups, thought I would experiment with this. This is very fast, just more expensive. Would not recommend for the general population but if you need speed and are ok with the lower size + higher cost, then it is totally worth it.
