After a couple years I cannot write to this drive anymore. I cared for it and trusted it with 1000s of photos and edits. It can still read but not write. I'm transferring my files.

Upon connecting the SSD to my Mac, I received an error indicating the certificate had expired and that it may not be authentic. I called Samsung repeatedly but they experienced phone problems. I was told to email their support address and someone would get back to me right away. Hours later, I called again and they are now closed. Fortunately, Best Buy Geek Squad recommended returning this and trying another one. The whole afternoon was wasted.

Unfortunately this product did not work out for me it will not hold a charge the light does not stay on I think their is something wrong with the battery so I will be returning this product.

Bought this drive as part of double backup system with another HHD. I was checking daily and everything was fine. Then one week after purchase and installed in my system their is NO BACKUP AT ALL on the drive. Everything just disappeared except a folder that said "SamsungPortableSSD.app" and a adjoining executable file with the same name. The backup was done with Windows 10 because the T5 did not come with its own backup program which didn't make any sense at all.

Started to use device but had problems and still have not gone back to make a backup. Had to delete everything and now cannot backup.

First of all, this is probably the largest capacity drive I've ever purchased that literally fits in the palm of my hand! I bought this drive to use as "adoptable storage" on my Nvidia Shield Android TV. Plugged in the SSD, went into the Storage Settings, set the drive up to be part of system storage, and wah-lah! 1TB to use for both my movies AND games (emulators, android games, steam games whatever I want!) Speed is amazing, and because it is a solid state drive, no spinning! If you need a portable 1TB drive, or a SSD drive as part of Android TV system (definitely recommmend the Nvidia Shield), you will not be disappointed.

Glitches related to IOS Big Sur not resolved by suggestions online by Samsung community and others. Samsung service chat, calls, and other communication go unanswered or are handled by people so inexperienced that they are not helpful. Returning today.

Difficult to use. Not as easy as they say. Always have to log in on computer to start

Item was defective. Had to make two additional trips after initial purchase before they figured out that it was defective and replaced it for me. Each trip was about 70 miles round trip for me. You would think that as much as you have to pay for this item, it would work!

Just bought this a month ago, it was missing for in the mail for three weeks but when I finally got it and attempted to use it my mac said the certificate for this device expired over a year ago and it's likely a fake.

Received opened used SSD drive - Purchased new SSD drive - Took to long for Best Buy to make it right - Trying to support local brick and mortar stores - Best Buy is losing my confidence and business.

After one year, it completely just crashed. All 1.5 years of pictures, files, and videos just lost. Look for another memory card.

Haven’t been able to get it working. I’ve plugged it up and it’s just not working and haven’t been able to get back to the store Spence the one closes to me have closed .

Has great security features if you want that extra protection. Not to mention quick and easy to use. Very small, no bigger than a credit card and about as thick as 5 or 6 credit cards stacked on top of one another. Light weight, just perfect. Absolutely recommend to someone who wants that external storage in an SSD format at an extremely reasonable price.

If you have an xbox and are starting to run out of drive space or want certain games to load faster, this drive will work very well. Though most will use this as traditional storage, it will work with xbox and offers real speed benefits. 1. xBox can use this drive in 2 ways: 1) Media Storage 2) Games. If you want to use the drive for games, xbox will reformat the drive and you can have games installed to this drive vs. your internal drive. Can't use it for both games and media so you'll have to pick. When you plug in the drive, xbox will automatically see it and walk you through the setup. 2. Game load times are significantly improved for me. Im not talking a few seconds less, I am talking about much faster noticeable load times for games like Forza Horizon, Forza 7, etc. If you want specifics, you can find a comparison of this drive vs. the internal HDD on youtube. 3. You can plug the drive into another xbox and you'll be able to play your games! This applies to the newest xbox's, not 360. 4. xbox can manage up to 3 drives so you can always add storage above and beyond this SSD. In my situation, I wanted 2 TB but really didn't want to spend all that money upfront so I got the 1 and I will add another (likely cheaper by then) if/when I need it. 5. This drive comes with the correct cable to connect direct to xbox. The connection to the drive is USB-C and USB-A to your xbox. So far so good, my games load faster and I have more storage, I've moved most of my games to this drive and use the internal drive for media storage and games that are less demanding/smaller in size.

I am sorry to say I could not make this work on a Mac Mini reliably. Weird interface. Minimal instructions. Typical of some Samsung products these days.

Product was returned not what I really wanted. I was looking for a solid state external drive that I could use as wifi in my home. This was not it.

Purchased to augment an Xbox One gaming setup already supplemented with a 4TB traditional HD. Seemed to me as if load times were constantly growing on certain games to the point that I was staring at load screens more often than playing. Checked some sites and settled on this SSD and it's worth every cent. Shifted a couple of long-loading games onto this credit-card-sized beauty and watched load times drop around 75-80% across the board - with the exception of server connections, can't do anything about that. Runs cool and utterly silent. Has made the agony of load times much more bearable, and transferring larger games went quickly. Did not run a formal speed test but the improvement is undeniable. Anyone on the fence, dive in - while it won't hold your whole library, it'll hold 10-15 moderately-sized games easily enough and you can transfer games to and from this drive seamlessly. It's a no-brainer!

Faulty product. Supposed to have 1 TB of storage. Not even 1GB

This drive is awesome! I've used it on Mac and PC. It's fast, small and so very portable. I keep it with my everywhere. Then they went on sale for Black Friday, so I picked a 2nd one up. Love, love, love this little drive!!!
