This ssd external backup is exactly what they say it is. Easy to use and to set-up, just connect the USB cable and select the password you want to assign it and then begin to back-up your files. It was that easy for me and then to access them later, just put in the password I had chosen and then copied files to new computer! Easy!

This is a very nice compact hard drive and is blazing fast !

Samsung hard drives are great, and this unit is no exception. I've been using it for a year as a backup unit and the only thing I would do differently would have been purchasing the 1TB instead of 500GB. The drive is fast and since I use it often space has been my only concern.

I bought this to use as a Time Machine backup drive for a 2016 MacBook Pro 15”. I have a Parallels Virtual Machine file that exceeds 160GB in size and every time I run a backup, that file gets copied over. This used to take forever when I used to use a rotary drive. This T5 gets it done in just a few minutes.

Very solid Type C drive. I use this on my Blackmagic camera and it can handle just about any codec size I record with. And I like the fact when I'm done in the field, I can come home plug in the drive and get straight to work. you can't beat that. Well....well worth the money.

I'm really pleased with this portable hard drive. It transfers data very quickly. For example, 18 GB of my data transferred in about 7 minutes which is plenty fast for my needs. It's very light and portable which is nice too. Finally, it has a very simple user interface with a basic password protection feature which is nice too.

256GB is prettly measly for the $1000 mac I just bought, but fortunately we have this little fella. I'm no scientist but most benchmarks that I've seen seem to show that this is among the fastest and best value drives you can get for your money, especially if you're like me: confined to best buy due to their rewards

I bought an iMac desktop a few months ago (the cheapest desktop Apple offered) and was never happy with the load times compared to the MacBook Pro. My iMac has the old style 5400 RPM hard drive in it. I bought this Samsung SSD after talking to the salesperson in the Apple section in the Knoxville Store (thanks for the idea, wish I got your name), to see if the apps load any faster from it. The difference in speed was so good that I decided to make this a boot disk for the iMac and load all my apps to it. It took a few hours to setup and I had to set up my computer like a new Mac but the difference in load times is insane. The old internal drive would take about 4 minutes from turn on, to be able to use it at all (had to wait for the spinning rainbow circle to stop if you are familiar with Macs.). Now, using this Samsung SSD as a boot drive, the startup time is maybe 25 seconds. I also rarely have any wait time (spinning rainbow circles) starting apps like I used to encounter all the time, and when I do, it’s for maybe 2 seconds. Highly recommend this SSD and will be buying another to run my Logic Pro DAW files from the MacBook.

The speed of this portable drive is awesome! I use one with my xbox one and the load times is considerably less. The read and write times is fantastic. Perfect addition to increase the console storage or use with a computer and have quick access to your files.

I bought this wonderful little SSD as an external drive for my Xbox One X. While it is only a 500GB drive, I bought it to specifically speed up my favorite game Destiny 2. And WOW! It works well. The game loads much faster, and the UI in-game loads faster too!

So far no issues. I don't expect any. Samsung's SSDs have a great reputation. The physical design of the drive is great. Unlike other brands, there are no reports of any necessary firmware updates or inexplicable failures under a combination of conditions. To top it off, Best Buy was selling it at an irresistible price.

Great external USB solid state drive. Fast reliable

Bought it to test if we could find a way to use it with Thunderbolt 2. The drive didn't seem to work so we tested it on a PC where it worked fine. The problem that it will not work with Thunderbolt 2 is even though the adaptor has the right pen out. Thunderbolt 2 does not support all the pens required for the new USB 3 C
