Not for MacBook Pro with M1 Chip!!!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought this as an extended display for my new Apple MacBook Pro 13" with the M1 chip, and it was not compatible as it left a pink/purple hue over the entire screen. I played with ALL the settings on the monitor and on the Mac to no avail. I even reached out to Apple tech support and they were not able to resolve it. I did test it out with two PC laptops and it worked wonderfully though! Good price and good quality if you are buying this for a PC. Ultimately, I returned it as I got it for the Mac. If you're reading this in your attempt to find a good monitor for your MacBook with the M1 chip, I recommend looking at 4K monitors. A USB-C port would be preferable, but the HDMI converter will still work fine if the monitors other specs are up to speed. Take a look at the LG monitor that Apple offers in the Apple Store for specs and go based off that - spare yourself the headache that I went through.

Samsung Ruined This Monitor

I changed to DisplayPort cable and WHOA, the picture jumped to life and shows why Samsung has the best screens in the world. But now I have to say SHAME on Samsung for their little 'Joystick/Toggle' button. This an absurd device and in my opinion almost makes buying this monitor a huge NO WAY! It becomes a major project just trying to shut off the monitor. This should be a simple on/off switch but heck NO, Samsung got cute with their controls and turned a gem of a monitor into a living joke. If you enjoy frustration, buy it. I'm going to bypass the entire power process by plugging it into an accessory cord with its own on/off switch, this way I can simply click & click off...How simple! Shame on Samsung!!!

Only problem, I have to control the speaker volume with the toggle on the bottom of the screen. Other than that it work fantastic.
