While the price is acceptable, especially on sales, the difference is really little (didn't perform syntetic tests, but copying documents went at the same speed.) If it is your first external SSD - this is no brainer. Light, portable and little space. Don't heat much, though not ideal. Really good writing/reading speed and 2TB is just what you need for all that modern gaiming or heavy videos. But if you upgrade - than maybe it is best to wait for alternatives. 4 TB are showing more and more.

I bought SanDisk due to sale, it wouldn't even recognize in any of my computers (Win and Mac), needed format? Read about hardware and heat issues, exchanged for Samsung note on sale, completely happy! Worked when first plugged in.

I'm not impressed. I bought it for speed, not for portability. Yes it's really small. But I don't find the usability any different than a corded external hard drive. I fact I think I prefer the corded versions for my home computer since they run cooler. But if you want a small portable drive, it'd be good for that I guess.

The maximum transfer speed that can be achieved by the T7 is 1,050 MB/s on a PC that supports USB 3.1 Gen2 and UASP Mode, but the speed may vary depending on your PC environment and the types of data being transferred.
As there are various factors that could affect speed, I would encourage you to call Samsung Customer Support if you need further assistance to troubleshoot your issue.

I have the T5 version of this drive, and that drive performs pretty well, but since this was on sale, I thought I would take a chance. The drive performs so much faster than the T5 version. The copy speeds are really great. I would recommend this drive over the T5 version.
