Works perfectly. My first SSD and how fast it loads folders of pictures takes my breath away. One thing though - when the software is loaded, a message says that the drive can't be used. Don't panic. Go into the Mac utilities, then the Disk Utility app. Reformat the SSD as "Mac OS Extended (Journaled)". That's all.

The setup is very straightforward. There is nothing complicated to do. The device is so small it's hard to believe so much storage can be saved on a credit card size device. Be certain to format the drive to the specs of your OS or cloud service. I thought the drive was formatted for NTSF, a format if you use Dropbox. Apparently, I had to format the drive to NTSF. That was not a big deal to do but be aware that you may have to format the drive.

This is my most reliable, portable SSD drive. It works very fast and is reliable. I keep one or two of these on-hand for work.

I bought this unit because I wanted a portable Solid State Drive that I can use with my laptop. I wanted to plug it in and leave it plugged all the time for easy access to the extra storage It provides. I did not want a backup only drive that cannot be left plugged in at all times. Most backup drives failed after extended use. Let’s see how this one work after a few months. It is a pricey hard drive but for now I’m very pleased with the quality of this unit. It is easy to use. Just plug it in and it works. The encrypted login is a nice feature. So far this unit is great and working just fine.

So I upgraded my hardware and unfortunately adding an internal SSD was not possible in my iMAC, but I read the read/write speeds of this hardware, and the iMac has 2 USBC/Thunderbolt ports on it. Let me tell you this thing screams! I use this as a data drive for Windows on Bootcamp, and I don't have to wait for it, nor does the computer. Downloading large amount of files and games to it actually now bottle necks on my ISP at 500 MBPS. Apps, Games and items load without hesitation and without issues! I'd highly recommend if you are looking for an SSD and have the USB ports to use!
