When transferring 4K footage to my editing laptop, it becomes very warm, but nothing alarming. Fast startup times and, more critically, lightning-quick copy times. I adore the drive!

So far, I have had no issues but did have to call Samsung customer support to answer a few questions, and they were a great help. Good support and product.

I use this to house most of my data, photos, programs, etc. in an attempt to keep the internal storage as free as possible. Works even better than I had hoped. No lagging, not even noticeable! Plug it in and forget about it. Stays cool and runs like a champ. I highly recommend this little powerhouse!

Hands down the fastest one on the market for external storage. You cant play next gen games on it but the transfers from internal to SSD is fast. Older gen games can be played off this device and noticed quicker load times.

This samsung external hard drive solved the problem by storing the games and freeing up my internal drive.

Such a little thing but so much space! I can finally access my dissertation data from the comfort of my home. Worth every penny!

I'm not impressed. I bought it for speed, not for portability. Yes it's really small. But I don't find the usability any different than a corded external hard drive. I fact I think I prefer the corded versions for my home computer since they run cooler. But if you want a small portable drive, it'd be good for that I guess.

The maximum transfer speed that can be achieved by the T7 is 1,050 MB/s on a PC that supports USB 3.1 Gen2 and UASP Mode, but the speed may vary depending on your PC environment and the types of data being transferred.
As there are various factors that could affect speed, I would encourage you to call Samsung Customer Support if you need further assistance to troubleshoot your issue.
