I am a studio engineer who needs plenty of space for files while at the same time the need to access them fast for pro software. This does the job plus more. Great product. Small and sleek.

I'm glad i have this now. i have somewhere to store my pictures and school files. Its worth the price since my laptop does not have that much storage to work with and dont want to push its limits then it breaking, then paying a repair. Good and fast. Portable as well

Great Drive for Expanding My M1 Storage

This is a very handy external SSD. I purchased this to use with an M1 Mac Mini and it provides all the speed that I never had using an external hard drive. It's rated at 1,000 MBPS and I tested it from my Mac Mini and I get just under 700 MBPS. I'm not sure if this is common, but I've also heard many people don't get the stated speeds on the M1 Macs. However, I'm still happy with the speeds. It's a nice compact external SSD and I just place it in the cable tray under my sit/stand desk. I try to hide all of my cables as I actually use this drive permanently instead of a portable drive.

This is the only brand and model that I buy. I currently have two of these (Gray & Blue). For me, one backup is not enough, there should be two copies, incase I need to re-format one SSD.

My PS4 only has 500gb, which COD uses every bit of. I had an old external HD that I had fortnite installed on, but I would load into games late and have lots of issues with the graphics of the game not loading fast enough. Getting this SSD fixed that, I load into games much faster and have no issues with lag.

Works as it should. This was an upgrade after a very old one. I like how small and sleek it is, I was expecting it to be large and it’s not. Lots of storage and cost effective for the amount of storage.

**Purchased on 11/30/2020 Black Friday sale, after eyeing it since release early 2020** Edit: Make SURE that both your computer and the USB-C cable you are using is capable of the USB3.2Gen2 speeds that this offers!! Alright guys listen up, Im a wannabe film maker/photographer alright, and on top of that I am a full time student studying biology and nursing during this pandemic. Check this all out For school, being online, I record my entire screen with audio for every lecture (because I cant focus for the life of me and I require reference all the time, also my memory is crap lol) so that's about 3-4 lectures a day (with each recording being 3-5GB) and I go between keeping them on my MacBook's hard drive and off loading them onto this SSD. So I have a Fuji X-T3 and a MacBook Pro 13in(Intel i5, early 2020, 16GB RAM, 1TB storage) for all my creative desires... For photography, I shoot in full uncompressed RAW with TONS of "spraying and praying" (so obviously that's GIGABYTES of data, on average about 60-80GB per shoot) and for video, I shot a bunch of weddings in full 4K, 60fps 10-bit 4:2:0 at 200mbps H.265/HEVC (between of 240-320GB of footage per wedding) GUYS. LISTEN- Not ONLY can this thing transfer 600GB of data in under 12 minutes... Playback of ANY video (my lectures or footage from my camera) is STUTTER FREE!!!! But WAIT!! THERES MORE!! I use Final Cut Pro X for my film making needs... The T7 can handle NON-PROXY EDITING!!!! This translates into NOT having to spend time waiting for optimized media AND saving space on both my MacBook and this SSD!! YOU CAN EDIT 4K H.265 CODEC WITH NO LAG!!! If you cannot already tell, I am very excited and IMPRESSED at both the performance and value of this thing. I cannot believe I was thinking about returning this!! I also have the 500GB T5, and lemme tell ya, the T7 is almost TWICE as fast in sequential processes. Basically, BUY THIS!! Hopefully this helps out anyone on the fence

The Best Buy employees had it ready as soon as I got there from placing the order online so kudos to them for sure. Great hard drive, very fast, easy to work off of. I got it without the gel because it saved a little bit of money but if you're traveling a lot with your HDs maybe invest in the protective gel.
