Customers admire the T7 1TB External SSD's speed, reliability, and compact, portable design, finding it convenient for travel and everyday use. The ample storage capacity is also frequently praised. While some users note that the drive can get warm during operation, and that the price point may be high for some, the positive feedback on performance and portability outweighs these concerns.

When bench testing, the drive read & wrote at advertised speeds using MacBook Air M4. Under sustained, heavy loads, the drive gets warm, but never did it get too hot to comfortably touch. Note that I did not install the included software. I formatted it for use with MacOS Time Machine and it works fine.
The price at Best Buy was very competitive. Shipping was nearly instantaneous.
One odd thing is that the manual never mentions when the LED should be illuminated, flashing or off. Occasionally, when I know it is writing or reading, there is no light or the light is solid. Even when the computer is off, sometimes the LED is lit. Beats me!

Have several other brands at this point. The Samsung is the only one i feel confident is not going to crash on me with valuable photos and video files on it. Its worth the premium to get the reliability.

This is one of those products that shows you why Samsung is a world class company - this thing is completely silent and downloads/runs PS4 games just as fast, if not faster than my PS5 itself. And it is much smaller than you might think.
For anyone considering this: Note that it does not currently support PS5 files. It is only able to store all your PS4 games so you can use the limited PS5 memory for PS5 games only. It is still very handy since mosy t current PS5 owners still play PS4 games too

If you need a reliable and fast external SSD, you can't go wrong with this model. As a design professional, I have extensive storage needs and I've tried a few different models.
In my opinion, the Samsung T7 offers the best value for the price and highly recommmend. Its fast and reliable, which are the most important attributes

Thisnhas been one of my best purchases for my pc, external ram is very much needed when most PC's only come with around 500gb internal, great buy! No problems so far. And its been about a year since purchase. Still running strong and a highly reccomended product by me to my freinds for a while now!

Back-up is important. I do not leave everything to the Cloud or One-Drive. The T7 2TB external is perfect for on-site back-ups.

I needed a newer solution that was faster than my old external drive. I've had this one for some time now. The transfers are quick and the case that was included makes for easy transport. My normal usage is for personal files and gaming. Its compatible with my PC, tablet, and Steam Deck.

Great secondary storage for those who didn't get enough in their laptop and can't add more because it's soldered. I have a 1TB drive in my Macbook Pro and I was running out of space because of how large my photo library has become since I got a full frame camera and have been storing raws and using Lightroom (DMGs are stupid big.) I have also have several Steam games stored on it and they run just fine. I've benchmarked the drive and it consistently gives me ~850MB/s reads and writes excluding file system overhead, so it's likely saturating the 10Gbps USB 3.1 bus on my laptop. I was able to copy my ~380GB photo library in under 10 minutes. All in all, it's a pretty good deal if you get it while it's on sale like I did for $140.
With that said, always remember to keep a backup. I just rolled it into my Time Machine (Apple,) backup to my external 8TB rotational media drive for redundancy because devices can and do fail.

Purchased for backing up two PCs prior to upgrade to Windows 11. Fast, easy to use. Did not overheat during a large (450GB) write, despite what other reviewers have said.
