Just get the larger one. Trust me. or you can be like me and buy 500gb drives over many years and then have to carry a case of all these drives like a 2000s CD case.

No issues at all so far with this drive. I use it for DAW both at home and on stage. It's fast, it's big, and I have no latency issues at all. Some complain about heat issues, but I have not had any, and I tax it out quite a bit (reading DAW sounds). The only con is the price. I wish it were more around the $200 range, and that it were true Thunderbolt, but that typically doubles the price.

Bought it as a local drive for making image backups of my desktop PC. Very fast and so far very dependable.

I'm very happy with the Samsung T7 2TB External SSD! I bought it to expand my laptop simply and quickly. The games I like to play respond super fast now and run without any issues.

Easy to use massive external storage. I use this to save some important files, photos, and videos and it is quick with a lot of space and easy to use. Only 2 drawbacks. Have to download software to lock it and it is a bit pricey.

Large amount of storage and easy to use. Can connect to usb C or usb A for easy compatibility.

I purchased this to use as an external drive for the Xbox Series X. While of course not as fast as the internal drive, this does have great read/write speeds and works excellent with legacy games to free up internal storage. For those who want portable solution, it has a really small footprint and could easily slip in a pocket.

Appears to work well; can't yet comment on long-term durability, but satisfied so far.

I was surprised with how small this thing is. Such a little thing but so much space! I can finally access my dissertation data from the comfort of my home. Worth every penny!

Just what I needed to hold a metric ton of data. It's very fast and I was able to transfer just about everything I needed with little to no hassle.

I liked the slick design and the fact that its fast transfer i highly recommend it is my second product after t7 shield

Smaller than expected, which is great. Was initially undecided about which portable hard drive to purchase, but this one being SSD is biggest when transferring files from my GoPro to this one. It's just so much faster.

I use this drive for Time Machine backups on my Macbook Pro. Simple setup. Reliable. Makes laptop upgrades and restores a breeze. Small and portable if you want to use it for external storage.

Good transfer speed. Good size. 2tb is ample space for most applications. Feels solid. Very pleased overall.

I was trying to up my game and store some important files that are just taking up space until they may or may not be needed. I've been pretty busy, and was worried about the box being crushed, but plugged it in and it works great! I am in the middle of a weeks long investigation and haven't had much time for learning the ins and outs of this device, bot it seems to work perfectly, and I may use it on another device that needs it more if it is compatible with that device. Either way it was a good buy for the money, and I am sure I may buy another if it works for just storage of very old files , saved just in case so I can navigate better on current projects, or even use it for the projects if need be.

I have several of these and have never had any issues. Most of them are used for storage, but one is used for editing active projects and its great to edit 4K footage directly from.
