This storage fits in the palm of my hand. It might be small, but it has so much storage. I have backup two computer files and photos.

I really wanted to like this drive. The price was great, the capacity more than sufficient. It was physically smaller than I expected. However, I planned to use it as an external Steam Library. Caution: this drive gets _really_ hot. Some people think the T7 is just an overclocked T5. It was very fast, as I got the full 10gbps connection. Either way, for non-intense usage it is probably fine, but it was disconnecting intermittently for me under heavy usage. I ended up exchanging it for a different external SSD (WD_BLACK P50).

Very fast SSD with great hardware. Comes with USB-C to USB-C cable that allows for Power Deliver and full USB 3.2 Gen 2 speeds. And a USB-C to USB-A that also allows for 10Gbs speed. I have zero complaints and edit all my videos and photos off of this drive. I wish I would have bought one sooner. It is small, light and can slip in any pocket of a backpack or laptop sleeve, perfect for on the go.

This very compact solid state device (ssd) is excellent for backup storage of files, which everyone should have. I got this one when my previous backup drive (not solid state) failed. This one is smaller, faster and should last much longer.

I use the Samsung SSD on my Windows 11 gaming desktop for additional storage. To manage space in my internal drive, I also install larger Steam Games to the SSD and pay them from there. With the speed of this drive over a USB-C connection the games have no discernible lag.

Amazingly fast, light and compact. A great replacement for any older USB external drives, like going from a 1990 Chevy Citation to a 2022 Tesla. Insanely fast on a MacBook Pro. This is the third purchase of this item for clients to either upgrade their old drives or for local Time Machine backups. Highly recommend. Great price too!

Very fast. Great for transferring hundreds or thousands of DSLR captures and Movies. Does get warm to hot and slows (protective throttling) down. Have used ice packs to keep up the speed and long life of SSD. Still faster than a Hard disc drive when hot. 383 GBs and still adding to folder. Still need to transfer Sony video cam movies and pictures.

Works. I have another one, so they last (if quality is the same). One downside is it comes with Samsung Magician. Earlier versions came with a simple application in case you use encryption. I tried Samsung Magician, albeit a long time ago, and (sorry I forget why) found it annoying. Thankfully, the old application works with this drive. Second downside, be aware that only 931 GB are available on the drive. I'll let you search the web to find out why.

    Not much change from T5

Upgraded from T5 1TB. Frankly speaking expected more from it. While the price is acceptable, especially on sales, the difference is really little (didn't perform syntetic tests, but copying documents went at the same speed.) If it is your first external SSD - this is no brainer. Light, portable and little space. Don't heat much, though not ideal. Really good writing/reading speed and 2TB is just what you need for all that modern gaiming or heavy videos. But if you upgrade - than maybe it is best to wait for alternatives. 4 TB are showing more and more.

My wife called this 'the greatest piece of tech' I ever bought. As a creative it allows her to quickly and easily move massive files between computers at home and on the go. Great build quality, discrete and light. Gets a bit warm during use, but not too bad. It's plug and play, but also has sokid security features like password protection.

Love the size of it. So slim and not much bigger than a credit card. Plenty of storage space. Transfers media fairly quickly as well. Faster than i expected it to from a laptop that had not been used in a few years. About an hour for more than 100gb of media. Haven't tried from a phone yet. Opens up quickly as well when plugged into another laptop. Only downfall is the encryption process, Haven't totally figured it out yet, but once its encrypted and the password is set up i tried to open it on another device and the media would not show up on the new device, but it was still on the drive. Had to decrypt it on the old device before the media would show on the new device. Overall though it was worth the purchase though.

I use this SSD primarily for video editing and other high-bandwidth tasks and it’s absolutely amazing. Great for professional applications. Super overkill for basic file storage but it’s an amazing product otherwise.

I've tried it on many different products; anything from a flagship Android device, MacBook, Win10 system & a Xbox One X. On the MacBook and Win10 setups, it averages speeds right around 850mb/s. On the Xbox One X console it averages about 490-520mb/s due to the console only having USB 3.0, so the SSD is essentially being bottle-necked, which I knew would be the case from day 1. However, in all cases this drive is ridiculously fast, has really nice build quality, easy to use on any platform and for what you're getting it's definitely worth the price. I've made this the main drive from which I run games off of on my XB1X. I have the stock internal 1TB HDD, a 5TB external USB 3.0 HDD that I download all games and apps to, and then I have this new 1TB SSD that I transfer my most played/current game(s) to because it loads and runs so much faster. Overall, I haven't had it long but I have no complaints, yet. If anything changes I'll be sure to update my review, but as of now I have no cons whatsoever about purchasing this SSD. For the price & the future proof of it being USB 3.2 Gen 2, it really is hard to beat.

No issues at all so far with this drive. I use it for DAW both at home and on stage. It's fast, it's big, and I have no latency issues at all. Some complain about heat issues, but I have not had any, and I tax it out quite a bit (reading DAW sounds). The only con is the price. I wish it were more around the $200 range, and that it were true Thunderbolt, but that typically doubles the price.

Thanks for purchasing the Samsung T7 Portable SSD and for your review. I'm glad to see you are happy with the experience. Use T7 without the worry of overheating. Its just over the size of a credit card and about as thick as pencil. Works great and is lightening fast. I had a TimeMachine for years tucked away in a cabinet so you wouldn't see it. It crashed and now I have this on my desk, you barely even notice. I used it on my iMac and just story on top of the base mount with a short Thunderbolt cable. So much better than my TimeMachine in backup speed.
