This Samsung solid state hard drive is a the perfect time machine for my MacBook Pro. It's super fast and super compact. Definitely will buy more of these.

I use this drive for Time Machine backups on my Macbook Pro. Simple setup. Reliable. Makes laptop upgrades and restores a breeze. Small and portable if you want to use it for external storage.

Portable, very fast transfer, and SSD hard drive. Samsung Magician app that comes with it is weird, though it doesn't affect the use of the hard drive.

Great secondary storage for those who didn't get enough in their laptop and can't add more because it's soldered. I have a 1TB drive in my Macbook Pro and I was running out of space because of how large my photo library has become since I got a full frame camera and have been storing raws and using Lightroom (DMGs are stupid big.) I have also have several Steam games stored on it and they run just fine. I've benchmarked the drive and it consistently gives me ~850MB/s reads and writes excluding file system overhead, so it's likely saturating the 10Gbps USB 3.1 bus on my laptop. I was able to copy my ~380GB photo library in under 10 minutes. All in all, it's a pretty good deal if you get it while it's on sale like I did for $140. With that said, always remember to keep a backup. I just rolled it into my Time Machine (Apple,) backup to my external 8TB rotational media drive for redundancy because devices can and do fail.

Use this for dedicated windows backups. Fast, compact, well cushioned, and reliable. On sale occasionally.

Slim and quick SSD, comes with a USB-C to USB-C cable, and a USB-C to USB-3 cable. The Samsung Magician application (the only thing on the drive when you plug it in) isn't a bad piece of software. I'd recommend reformatting the drive from exFAT to NTFS, but that's a personal preference for partitioning.

Very good, very fast, reliable, plug and play. I don't know why you would use and internal SSD over this one.

I picked up this 2TB Samsung external drive for my wife’s photography business and it has been fantastic. Wedding photos and 4K videos eat up massive amounts of space, and this drive handles everything with ease. Transfer speeds are super fast, so she can quickly back up full wedding shoots or pull up client galleries without waiting around. The 2TB capacity gives us plenty of room for raw files, edited work, and archives, and it’s compact enough to toss in her camera bag. Super reliable — no crashes or slowdowns even with heavy daily use.

Needed a quick and easy way to dump LOTS of videos into storage to give my phone more space. This was super easy plug and play and has ample space to hold everything and more for the future. Decently priced as well. Encryption is straight forward and a much appreciated feature. I also appreciate the compact size.

This is a great product! It's 10 times faster than my old hard drive external storage. It performs even better then I expected. The size makes it very easy to carry all my important data with me. It's cheaper to buy a second one as a back up and replace my cloud storage. No more internet or tech issues with paid cloud storage. Highly recommend this product!

This is a great addition to my electronic storage arsenal. However, I wouldn't download video games onto it and try to play them from this storage, the latency of information transfer from the external device to the PC is noticeable even when using type 3 USB or USB C on both ends. But, it's affordable and very sturdy. If I need more external storage where I won't be using it to store games, I'd buy another.

Fantastic small 2TB external SSD Drive, I have so many tv shows and movies downloaded on here and it’s great to carry them wherever I go. The speed is super fast and I know people complain how hot it can get but I only noticed that while transferring my files from my PC to the drive. But it hasn’t got hot while it’s plugged into my tv watching movies and TV shows. I do check it once in a while to make sure and it’s nice and cool
