It said compatible with Android too but I couldn't get the app to work with the hard drive. Otherwise the security, speed and usability were great with windows, I just needed something more flexible.

I could always get it to finish installing after 4-11 hours of cloning (depending on the software) but always had a boot issue.

You should NOT need another computer, in a wholly different operating system, to make a "plug and play" device like this work. The Samsung T7 still gets 3 stars because it DOES work. The Samsung T7 LOST two stars because of the very un-holiday heartburn it caused me over several days. I bought two other high-speed cables to see if that might correct the problem. (Nope) I ended up moving this drive to a Windows box to see if it would do anything there at all, and -- prang! -- Windows recognized it. Once on the Windows PC, I was able to format it (FAT, not NTFS) and then move the damned T7 back to my Mac. I almost returned this thing, and I was NOT looking forward to arguing with Best Buy about it.
