I have the SanDisk Extremes as well and I think the rubber coating causes those to overheat because they will malfunction during large transfers and backups. None of those problems with the T7. Technology is finally getting to “dream come true” status and these drives are exemplary.

I use it to store virtual instrument samples that I use with proTools. It works like a charm. It is the size of a credit card (though thicker). I recommend it to anyone who needs a short access time to data, as plugins for Protools or other DAW software.

I like that you can easily throw a sticker or label on them to mark what they are being used for. There are a ton of 3rd party cases, as well.

Read a lot of other reviews before deciding on this drive. It has great speed on both read and write from the M1 using the USBC port. I got 680 for both read and write. I highly recommend this drive for anyone looking for an external SSD.

Make sure you set it up right though... it's not super intuitive. It comes formatted in a way that not all computers recognize or work very well with, so your best bet is to go into drive manager, delete the volume/format, and then create a new volume/reformat it for your computer.

Ipad Mini 6 data takes up 2x space on T7

When Is transfer data from IPad to T7 the gb used would double. Example, transferring 1 gb data from Mini 6 to T7 takes up 2gb on SSD. Works week on windows’s, not so well on my Mac though I didn’t format it. Overall for PC users 5 stars. Password doesn’t work with Ipad need the T7 touch to password protect.

Comes with the same OEM USB cables. Worked perfectly after formatting the unit to Apple APFS format.
