After spending so much on other solid state drives in the past, I realized I had to get something fast and reliable. I found this one on youtube. It has a very fast read and write speed. and its great for gaming, and editing with applications like photoshop or premier. My only issues is the cost. its not cheap at all, especially if you want the 1TB versions.

This has been a great little portable drive for me. I did not experience any of the issues described by others. I connected my Samsung T7 direct via the supplied USB-C-to-C cable to my iMac Pro and measured 888.9 MB/s read and 844.2 MB/s write. This matches my expectations, as in my experience Blackmagic Disk Speed Test typically measures 10-15% below manufacturer rated speeds (presumably due to it being a sustained rate test). I did NOT install the Samsung software. I left the format at the out-of-the-box ExFAT default. Yes, you do have to know going in that you will likely be paying a ~15% price premium for the T7 over the T5 at the same drive capacity, with the expected benefit of having around 70-75% higher read/write performance ( ~ 840 MB/s vs ~ 480 MB/s ). For many, the performance benefit won't be worth it. Additionally, there are caveats. For example, if your PC, Mac, or USB hub, is only rated for USB 3.1 then you will never see higher than a theoretical maximum of 625 MB/s anyway. So, yes, you should likely stick with the T5 in that case. As for the Samsung software, I usually do not install manufacturer software for drives, printers, and other peripherals unless absolutely required. I have been bitten by incompatible, buggy, or simply obnoxiously programmed drivers one too many times. I obviously can't speak for others' experiences, but perhaps their slow performance, slow startup, or running warm issues are due to the installation of the Samsung softwar

Slim, sleek and easy to use. It doesn’t come with a password protective software I case you are saving sensitive data. It is on the pricier side for ssd but overall the build and quality makes it worth it.
