I just used this for the first time to do a Time Machine backup - 300 GB - from my 2018 MacBook Pro running Sonoma 14.4.1. The T7 wrote for 35 minutes and was very warm to the touch when finished. T7's USB 3.2 port is too slow when transferring from MB Pro's Thunderbolt 3.
Sandisk's Extreme Portable USB-C NVMe SSD is significantly faster.

Works OK but not SMART on Linux Mint or Proxmox

Speed is good, but Proxomox and Linux Mint said SMART was limited (no ability to test, no ability to track tests, causes daily error messages). Samsung Magician for Linux could not find the PSSD.
Thank you for purchasing the T7 Shield SSD. All operating systems support Samsung SSDs, and the improved queued trim enhances Linux compatibly. However, not all operating systems are optimized to keep SSDs working at the peak performance. Samsung's Magician software is not currently supported via Linux.
If you use an x86-based Linux machine, you may load the firmware ISO file onto a bootable USB drive from a Windows-based computer.

It doesnt play on my tv and I have wanting this device, for a long time. I need to buy multi- connecting system, which means more money.

I want my money back....

Piece of Junk. I took it out of box plugged it in with the cable supplied. Immediately a screen pops up plug in device. Spent half the night looking in Bios, Device manager. No luck. Maybe it is as simple as a different cord I don't think so. No tech support, no help.

WASTE OF TIME

Tried to buy one of these but the Best Buy store is a joke. After scanning a QR code with an app I waited 45 minutes at the "order pickup" counter and then no one could find the drive for me. I have NO NEED of a so called store that is basically an app that I have to drive to... Go out of business already.

I do not recommend this product. I bought it and after spending a couple of hours transferring data it stopped working. I took it back to the store and exchanged it for another one. 3 months later, it stopped working again and I lost all my data. This is the worst thing ever which is to trust one brand with your precious data but then they horribly fail.

They kept emailing me for a review so now they get a bad one, if I can't spam bad reviews then you can't spam emails for them.
As for the product, it's a typical new product, it works, for now. How long, well this is not the 60s and 70s anymore, I'm sure I got a year or two at best before I need a new one.

I downloaded the app that is recommended for this hard drive to work and it would not recognize the item was attached. The reviews on the app are a lot of negatives stating the same thing. Ended up returning since i cant use it like i wanted with my phone on the go
