Would recommend if you need something rugged - the water resistant feature is amazing. But if using for everyday use by a laptop, then the regular T7 is probably better.

Please know that the T7 Shield features Dynamic Thermal Guard, which constantly monitors your drive's temperature and automatically throttles temps down when they rise above optimal critical threshold. This protects your data while maintaining responsiveness to help ensure your drive is always safe from overheating.

It's truly NOT a plug and play. In order to use this product, you will need to have some tech skills. Not for the everyday user that's expecting the product to backup your files just by plugging it in.

They instructions are tiny and confusing. Thank goodness I had teenage neighbor that showed me how to work.
