Bought it brand new, was not out of the box or anything like that. It just would not allow retrieval of data. Took it to Geek Squad, they could not make it work either. Found out this is also not covered under the Best Buy Maintenance service program that I subscribe to.

The drive has been reliable in my own experience, and has not experienced any issues with performance.
