I have played numerous higher end games (Enshrouded, RDR2 etc..) entirely from the external with no lag or issues.

It works well for the storage portion and games load quicker than on my previous external hdd. The only qualm I have with it is it will say that it was unplugged and then have to repair nearly everytime I put the playstation into rest mode thus causing any game that was running on it to close

Also, it seems pretty durable in its build and protective casing. Not the cheapest unit out there, but seems to be worth it.

Not sure I've seen 2GB/s, but it easily writes at more than 1GB/s to an encrypted volume, and that is more than fast enough even for 4K video editing. It is smaller than it looked online, but has a sturdy feel and a rubber casing that is nice to the touch.

I bought 2x 4TB, one for backing up a PC and the other for VFX editing and photography work. You must have a 3.2 connection from your hardware to get max speeds. So, keep that in mind. Even without that the speeds are phenomenal.
