UI is pretty slow, but it does automatically switch over to HDMI mode. Buggest complaint would be that the automatic keystone mode being really “hit or miss”. It also looks a little crooked, but that could be due to user error. Note: if you’re using this for a steam deck, you’ll need a micro HDMI to HDMI cable

We appreciate your feedback on laggy navigation and Auto Focus performance on The Freestyle. To ensure your unit is fully optimized, we ask that you make sure your unit has the latest firmware version installed. You can check firmware by going to: Home > Menu > Settings > Support > Software Update.
Please also check the following, which may further improve Auto Focus and Keystone Correction:
1. Ensure you've removed the film covering the lens, as this can affect Auto Focus performance.
2. Position the device with the “Samsung” logo on the bottom of the unit.

However after just days the first flaw showed up - something messed up the focus and the image got super blurry. This is where the fun began - this item has NO hard reset to factory. So i had to navigate through 7 blurry screens from videos I googled trying to guess which blob on the screen would reset this - took hours! The SECOND Issue is the hardware - today I tried to adjust the angle of my stand and the top of one of the screws attaching it to the base popped off. It snapped because it is made from cheap PLASTIC! Yes, the key hinge of this unit is plastic, not metal. When I tried to fix and reattach - the other top popped off as well OMG. Then the "best" part - I contacted customer service. I thought this is DAYS old and plastic screws are cheap, surely they'll replace them. Wrong! For over 30 minutes the rep argued with me and provided no resolution. I was told I had 2 options : 1 PAY for two new screws and buy them from Samsung or 2. PAY for repair by sending the unit back to them. They did not care that I have bought multiple major appliance from them in the past year. They did not consider that maybe the screws already had some damage when they arrived... They made no attempt to resolve this quickly or to assure my peace of mind. Did Samsung intentionally make these plastic to keep you paying every time they snap? Possibly. Either way the sad part is they would not stand behind their product, not even for a few days. This concludes my relationship with them as a customer.

Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed.This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Swapped out 3 times to have the same issue(s) happen on all three of them. 1) The OS on this is horrible, very slow reaction time from when pressing the remote to when it actually moves on screen, 2) The device seems to overheat a lot then shutdown, which causes a factory reset and then I would have to wait to turn it back on and then redo the whole setup process, and finally 3) If and when the device turned off on its own, it would never again turn back on rendering the device useless. If you called or messaged Samsung they would just ask you to send the device in to either get it fixed or replaced with the device literally being only two days old. I usually love Samsung products but this one is just outright trash.

Please do ensure your projector's firmware is up to date with version 1303.6 which includes updates to improve lag and Auto Focus and Keystone Correction performance. You can check this by going to: Home > Menu > Settings > Support > Software Update.
Watching content for an extended period of time can cause the unit to generate heat, which is released through the vents on the projector. The vents may feel hot to the touch when the projector has been used for an extended period of time. This heat, however, is not a defect and doesn’t affect functionality. When in use, make sure you maintain a distance of at least 4 inches between the projector and other objects (walls, cabinet sides, etc.) to ensure proper ventilation.
With voice recognition always enabled, the Wi-Fi and microphone module remain active even when the power is turned off. If you feel heat even when the device is off, turn off AoV (Always on Voice) Mode. Go to: Menu → Settings → General & Privacy→ Voice → Bixby Wake-up Options and select “Only use the Bixby button” or “Additionally saying ‘Hi Bixby’”.

Whether it be a movie night on the bug screen or just something to keep the kids occupied while we use the tv in the living room. I love the auto keystone feature, i can place this on any wall and it adjusts right away. I would definitely recommend this product.
