I've owned this player for a little over a month now. I have it paired with the Vizio 75" P-Series TV. The only UHD 4K Blu-ray disc I've viewed is DeadPool. It looked very good even with no HDR support from my TV. I was able to view this disc with HDR enabled after a firmware update to my TV. After the HDR update the TV screen went dark (no signal detected for that HDMI input). Not a big deal and not sure if the TV is to blame or the player. However I'm knocking off one star on the rating as the disc has restarted on me twice. Not a big deal though. With HDR the picture does pop a bit more color and brightness-wise. Very nice. Firmware updates are easy and quick on this player. Be sure to keep the player up to date to ensure best playback. I've already had 2 updates so Samsung seems to be on the ball with fixing issues. I've played back regular (not 4k) Blu-ray discs. Star Trek Into the Darkness looked amazing. Looks to me like blu-rays got a slight bump in picture quality with this player's upscaling abilities. Another plus is the disc load time; it's quick compared to my regular Blu-ray player. Finally, the curved design is a little ugly but I'm more about function than form. Overall a good buy.

This 4K Blu-Ray player is unbelievable! My Blu-Ray movies are upconverted to near 4K. I'm in the process now of watching all my movies again!

Compatibility with HDR and 4K content is supreme. Also looks very good in the living room.

I bought two different players, both where not TRUE 4K but said so on the box. This one is and puts everything to 4K format regardless. The difference has to be seen to be believed . I love this player ! If you have a True 4K TV, This is the player you need.

Great picture quality. The upscaling feature on the system makes My Blue Ray movies look even more clearer than what it is. I will recommend this item.

Using this with a new Sony 2016 Model Year XBR 930D 4K with HDR. The picture is incredible and the new 4K ultra Blu-Ray DVD's area big difference over the HD DVD's with upscaling.

I'm not an expert about tech, but let's say this DVD player hasn't disappoint me , nice quality images, It's a little bit bulky I've seen smaller and thinners players, could be to the features that excels in some areas that lacks in others. About the remote control I still trying to figure it out how to make it work with my Sony tv.

this bluray is amazing all of my 4k movies look incredible. it's fast and al though my tv is not HDR . my movies still look great, just a heads up ; it's inportant to know how to callibrate this bluray player and you tv,

Interfaces beautifully with our LG UHD Television. 4K discs look unbelievable and Blu-ray looks great with the upscaling. Found an excellent 4K video library for free on YouTube !!!. The online features are very easy to access. We are very happy with this purchase

Finally, a superb 4K UltraHD player that is available but also great in all aspects! Love the 4K it plays for Netflix, UHD discs, etc. It can play any type of media and it's so awesome! Firmware updates are very fast coming along too to fix bugs...

RUNS ALOT BETTER THAN MY OLD SAMSUNG 3D BLU-RAY PLAYER 4K MOVIES ARE CRISP AND CLEAR.

This is my first 4K DVD player so I really not able to compare it with the Panasonic or Phillips. I got this one on a great deal and honestly I was leaning towards the Phillips but it doesn't have that many apps. I know companies will say they are working on it but reality through the years make you think differently. I am able to watch any app that supports 4K through it and 4K with any UHD 4K DVD. Plus it will upscale any regular dvd or bluray dvd and that is awesome. I only pay 199.00 with gift cards given to me through Xmas and got 10.00 best buy gift card back, so no deal breaker. I have heard great reviews on the Panasonic one but I didn't think that I wanted to spend 600.00 dollars on it.

First be aware, your tv must be capable of High Dynamic Range (HDR). Also your hdmi cables must be capable of reaching 18 GBPS. At first I thought the 4K Blu Ray player was a bit pricey. However, the original Blu Ray players were much more expensive. So I took the plunge and I'm glad I did. The first 4K Blu Ray player on the market is excellent. 4K UHD Discs, though few, look amazing. This player also improves the image quality of original Blu Ray Discs. The difference is noticeable. The thing that impressed me most was how much it improved the quality of my 3D movies.

Purchased this item to go with my new Samsung - 65 Class (64.5 Diag.) - LED - 2160p - Smart - 4K Ultra HD TV - with High Dynamic Range - Silver. First wifi (cordless) player I have bought. Love the wifi feature. This player makes 4K movies come alive on my TV.

If you've got a native/true 4k television, you want this 4k Samsung BluRay player. With the higher end monster HDMI cable, it's almost as if the image is real vs television.

I paired this with an 4k 75" LG TV through a Denon 7.1 receiver and couldn't be happier. With great upscaling, the picture I experienced was awesome, and the sound was amazing. I have only viewed BD thus far but plan to view a DVD and see how the picture is.

Set up was easy and the picture is great. Only negative so far would be the price. We bought it on sale so was definitely worth the cost difference.

It's pricey but, if you've got a UHD TV, you're not getting everything out of it until you watch a 4K (not mastered in 4K, but the actual 4K Blu-Ray) disk. I watched The Amazing Spider-man 2 (1st UHD video) and it was like watching it in 3D. Very impressed.

For half price it is not to bad but,at full price,not such a deal.Picture looks great and it does upscale nicely.It is missing the ability to zoom the screen and for 400 bucks that feature should be required.Some folks like the letterbox but I usually expand the screen.it also has trouble with some media files.I have a lot of MP4 files and ,while it states that those files are supported ,mine won't play them.I have had it lock up during transition from disc to apps.Maybe next time around Samsung will improve upon these shortcomings.If it is 200 bucks then get it.if it is 400 bucks I would say wait for the 2017 models or,wait and get the Playstation or Xbox this year when they come out.

Currently , if you want the best 4k source you need a 4k bluray DVD player. This Samsung k8500 was my choice , the picture is jaw dropping . This is a smart player as well, I am totally pleased with its functions. Reasonable price. I'm good with it.....
