    This connector is necessary for connecting an auxilary cable or portable Square card reader. In my personal opinion it should be included with the cell phone at time of purchase. It seems Samsung is follwing in Apple's footsteps with giving you less with each cell phone purchase, but charging you more..

    I bought this headphone jack adapter so I could still use my Bose wired headphones with my Samsung S20 Ultra phone. Sometimes I will plug it in and the sound still comes out of the phone speaker and not from the headphones. I have noticed that sometimes I have to take out the type C end and turn it upside down and re-insert in order to get the sound to come out of the headphones. I have no idea why this happens but that is my solution.
