It only works occasionally. It was free to get rid of old stock and a way for SAMSUNG to lure customers into purchasing the new fast charging model. smh

I have it by my bed, place the phone on it and go to sleep. No worries

I bought two of these, one for me and one for my wife. We both love that you don't have to plug the cord into the phone, just set the phone on the pad and it charges. We have been using these for about two months and not one problem.

I normally go with Black because it looks sleek and cool but in the end I went with white because I wanted to see it in low light on my night stand. I wanted to make sure I always centered my phone on the pad so it wouldn't slide off and wind up under my bed or under my feet. In the end it was just too important for me to have this NOT be seen. I don't love the color white and wish it came in silver or gold or something else but I'm glad I didn't go with black. Black phone, black pad, dark room, phone falls off base, doesn't charge, etc. Worst case scenario I step on the phone and break it. No more smart phone. Can't believe I use to plug in my phone 2 or 3 times a day. Insane! For the price these phones sell for they should come with a FREE wireless charger.

Better than stretching out cords all the time. Must buy.

Great charger; but still needs to be plugged into a power source. My assumption upon selecting this item was that I could use the charging pad wirelessly after it had been charged up, to then charge my phone. However, the wireless functionality allows you to lay your phone on the charging pad while it is plugged into the power source. This is still a very helpful feature, but it was definitely different than what I had expected.

Works as described. My Samsung S5 charges on it without plugging in!
