Taken days and only like 8000/18000 photos moved since it kept freezing on random pics . Still not done I wanted to pull all phone pics to then delete them and make space

I like that it will fit iPhone or android. However, every time I try to load pics from iphone11, I get an error message about 1/4 of the way into pics & it stops loading. Have tried 3 different times to load & still same error message. Granted I have 1000’s of pics but I purchased the 256gb drive thinking it would be perfect for the amount of pics. Will have to call support or Geek squad for help. If I remember, I’ll update once problem resolved.
