This thumb drive has some weight to it and doesn’t feel cheap in the least. Unfortunately, the associated (required, as far as I can tell) app is rather clunky and could really use some improvement. My main complaint is in the encryption and decryption of the files and the fact that you cannot (seemingly) go directly from your iOS device to the encrypted folder with files and vice versa. You have to first copy them to the non-protected part of the drive and then select them (or the folder they’re in) and choose to protect them. Moving a protected file onto your device is the same thing… you can’t move it directly, you have to first decrypt it into a folder on the drive itself, then you can copy the file to your device. It’s an extra step that adds extra time and makes it nearly impossible to keep your files in their original sub folder structure within the encrypted portion of the drive. Still, it does give you a way to back files up from your iOS device directly without having to use any hardware adapters and it does have a very quality feel to it.

While iPhone 15 start using USB-C instead of lightning. I tried to connect this to my iPhone 15. It’s not recognizable. So this is no longer useful for me. Sad.
